Print/video Inspection: Started inspecting the rest of Jumanji, which is looking good. I already have some print pics, including a pic of the physical board game! Got lucky and caught it at the right time. On the drive. I'll add more tomorrow.
Asset tracking doc updated/checked?:
Maintenance/cleaning: I'm glad I decided to thread up early in the evening because the damage in the head of the first reel needed to be fixed since most of it would still have to run through the projector, albeit briefly. There were torn sprockets, tape that hadn't been trimmed properly, and tape lifting upwards causing the splices to tent -- all of which we don't want. This matters the most when there's very little leader to begin with, but since it was the first reel, that didn't tamper with the first image. The rest of the print was fine apart from some gnarly damage along the soundtrack right at the very beginning of R4 which I heard through the monitor. I'll make note of that in the report. Last thing is that the reels were tenting, which isn't good for the film when feeding into the gate or whilst it's resting in storage. It's not the end of the world, but if there's nothing wrong with the bench, please put the effort into making sure the reels of film are nice and smooth. Non negotiable, folks. Best practices! All in all, I had a lot of fun and it was a great turnout.
Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Yes.
