NPP Projection Report 1/14 Admin


To do this evening/ was completed: We have a standard for including the Brutalist intermission on the cue sheets which we've gone over with the managers. Below the movie start time and above last call there should be an extra cell with the time the intermission starts. This is a part of the Brutalist's formula, make sure to include it on all cue sheets while we're showing this. -AL

The Soundtrack app on the iPad in 4/6 has been taken off schedule mode a few times recently. It should stay on schedule, please put it back if you notice music playing in the building before the normal time (1:30pm weekdays, 10am weekends) -AL

Made a lot of updates to the projectionist manual, including replacing Dolby TMS info with Screenwriter and generally tightening things up and reorganizing -AL

We got new dimmable lightbulbs for the wall sconces, they are in 3/7 with the other lightbulbs. -AL

Mic Input 1 on the Theater 1 Yamaha mixer has stopped working it seems. I marked this input so we don't use it and re-labeled inputs 2-4 as 1-3 so they correspond with the wireless mic numbers. -AL

Loops ran, ready for Popeye.

Waiting on Wolfman preshow content so we can finish scheduling/cues.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): I scheduled another FedEx pickup for tomorrow for the three prints that are waiting to go back: Cotton Comes to Harlem, Brewster McCloud, and The Big Heat. Since Big Heat is an Academy Film Archive print, if FedEx doesn't pick it up tomorrow we'll have to wait until next week to ship it out per their instructions. Also they ask we send things back to them via FedEx 2Day so I made new labels for The Big Heat and attached them to the cans. -AL

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
