Projection Admin 1/9


To do this evening/ was completed:  Please put all mic stands (except for 3 in Theater 1 for Spoons, those can stay), in the Trees closet in the bag after using them for anything. These need to be kept in a consistent place, not scattered around the building. If the Trees closet doesn't work for storing them for whatever reason, feel free to propose a new location, we just need to pick one and stick to it. -AL

Note: Just a friendly reminder here to try and make all slides ~ 20 seconds long. It provides a good amount of space for cues when there's an intro (especially when switching to 35mm or any special trailers), plus it's nice and smooth with a fade out. 10 seconds can be a little tight. Thanks!  -LH 

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Tech'd the playlist for All We Can Imagine As Light. Volume is plenty loud at 5.0. Took a look at Flow just to make sure. LH 

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Once the events were finished in T2 we had a tight turnaround to get everything in for Spoons in T1, butAlec took care of 2 whilst I got setup in T1. Yamaha, wireless mics/receiver, spots board and Aja for laptop connection--along with the 1/8" for audio-- are all ready. Everything's been tested, just remember to use non synch for laptop sound and turn on the breakers for moving spots!  LH 

The event in T2 went well today, everything is put back where it's supposed to go. Put three of the mic stands in the Trees closet, in the bag. -AL 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested the new Reconsider This preshow elements along with the railer for Across the Universe. Built the playlists for Space Jam and Popeye. LH 

We received the single can of Evil Dead 2, which I brought to T1. Also, if MadMax gets put on the server today, please ingest! LH

Maintenance/cleaning: Did speaker/sound checks in all auditoriums apart from T2 as we had a private event in there all day. I checked out T7 and T5 to see if we had any lamp issues starting to surface in there as they'll both need to be changed soon. We're at 9% left until a warning in T7. 18 in T5. No flickering in either, but T5 is a little dim. No one showed up to the Flow screening but it gave me a good opportunity to see the image on screen. LH 

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Added info for All We Can Imagine as Light, Popeye - LH 

Scheduled Space Jam, filled timing in for both the prints this weekend. -AL

I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
