NPP Projection Report 2/15



To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues: MOD radioed me a few minutes after T4 preshow started that there was no image on screen, I checked and noticed the lamp was off and the cooling countdown was up on the TPC. There was a "lamp off" cue mistakenly added to the top of the playlist right after the "lamp on" cue in the MBB playlist. I removed it.

Special Events/ AV set up: Pulled out the inspection report of Mo' Better Blues from 2022 since there wasn't one on the drive (I know it's the same print because the cans still bear my correction to the soundtrack type from when we got it before). Please always fill out a pre-screening report, for each and every print!

The MBB screening went very well. Something towards the beginning of reel 2 threw the image out of focus so watch out for that tomorrow. The first reel is a tiny bit jumpy but I don't recommend increasing the gate tension as the movement is very minor (FWIW I started the show on P1). Other than those two small things, it played beautifully for a nearly full house. I increased the 500 to 8.0, you might want to do the same if tomorrow ends up being full as well. There was no lights down cue in the playlist so I brought them down manually and added the cue to the playlist for tomorrow.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Deleted Nosferatu and Presence, don't think these are going to be coming back. Also deleted In the Mood for Love, Misericordia, and The Shrouds. Deleted the 2/14 Conclave playlist since it's not showing this week but kept the feature on the LMS.

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
