Projection Admin 2/12/25



To do this evening/ was completed: Had our cinema meeting this morning! we're doing well on content - we have everything for this week and almost everything for the next. Built and scheduled staff screenings (of which there are many) and blocked everything on the calendar. None of them will interfere with our tech checks (or the screener in T3 this Friday). Weekly Update is out! Keys for a bunch of new first runs open up tomorrow, so I'll take a look at everything in the morn. - Lillian 

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built the playlists for Shouting at the Screen, Flow. Lillian 

Trailer Updates: As per Kat's request, I updated the Oscar Shorts playlists to have the PG13 trailers. - Lillian 

Special Events/ AV set up: Soundcheck with Order of the Illusive for LSC tonight went well. As predicted there was no need for the PA system so they will just be using their own amps. The bassist will be arriving around 5pm, he'll have his own amp, too. Just listen from the house a bit after they set up and make sure the bass is a good level, not too quiet and not overpowering. FYI-John is not going to be here for this, he has the Film Feast over at WB. 


Tested the wired mic in T4 for the intro this evening for Porcelain War, the playlist of which has been updated with light cues and a slight volume adjustment. I also added the preshow pack for 178 since the slide is 178 and I think it just looks a little cleaner that way! For the spotify playlist during preshow, the RCA to 1/8" is in the processor for Nonsync (make sure volume is up on the laptop, all the way up, and set the volume on the processor to 3.7) please manually switch over to cp mic on the processor when they're ready for the intro. I already went through this with Jack, though, so he's aware.  Everything got tested. No Q&A!  - Lillian 

Downloaded the file for Manchurian Candidate, which is now transcoding to DCP and finishing on the DCPIII drive. Please put this on the share drive once it's done. Thanks! - Lillian

Maintenance/cleaning: Another round of many titles, so we'll have to keep an eye on our storage, which makes the Reports section in screenwriter super handy. I spent quite a bit of time today going over the film schedule for tomorrow and this upcoming week. Got Companion to transfer over to the theatres we're showing it in soon (sans T5). Making some important notes here for myself and just in general so everyone's aware (let's keep all these titles on the LMS just in case. Thanks!): 
Took Conclave off T3/T7. Transferred Companion to 3/7. 
Tomorrow, Presence and Nosferatu can get taken off the T3 server. 
Friday, Misericordia can get taken off the T3 server once the screener is over. 
On Saturday morning, The Brutalist can get taken off the T3 server. 
Flow has weekend screenings, but can get taken off the T7 server on Monday morning. Wicked stays with us all week! - Lillian 

Alec and I figured it'd be good to have a couple more of those dual RCA to 1/8" cables around so that we just have them ready to go in all theatres in case there's multiple events going on. T5 lamp holding strong still, too. - L

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
