NPP Projection Close 3/6

To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues: Syracuse MFA and alumni shorts program screening got off to a really rocky start this evening due to the HDMI connection failing to play audio and later video as the show was scheduled to begin. Lillian had tested everything earlier in the day with Kara, the university rep, and between rounds I checked the functionality of the microphone, which worked just fine, only to find that each of these would malfunction when needed. The mic line went dead, despite the tech, and the HDMI connection was giving us picture but no sound at the start of the program. I rewound the film, tried playing it again, but still had no sound. I did this twice more and by the third time the picture had also dropped out. I contacted Lillian and Alec and did some troubleshooting on the desktop for its sound settings which were, apparently, all wrong and not what she had set in the afternoon, leading us to believe the HDMI had completely severed its connection to the projector and/or the monitor. I then went about reseating the HDMI cable from the back of the monitor and the side of the projector in the crawl space at Alec's suggestion. After a delay of some 15-20 minutes, A/V playback was in working order once more and the program was run normally

Spoons ran over some 20 minutes so the shutdown cue was triggered once they went past the HDMI media block. I had to strike the lamp for them to continue and finally end the show. All gear was organized and put away and the mics were returned to booth 1 to charge

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Syracuse MFA and alumni screening went about as normally as it could have given the aforementioned technical issues...the university rep, Kara, was very understanding and took it all in stride as we worked through it on our end

Setup for STB in theater 1 this evening was, thankfully, very simple, and all I needed to do was bring down the spotlight board and connect it beneath the curtain + tested mics and the A/V connection with the hosts before the audience was let in

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: Inspected the first 5 reels of Gladiator -- this is in immaculate condition -- and can take a look at the remaining three tomorrow in the event that Jack and/or Lillian do not have time in the morning to finish (I am not sure if the SoF print was full inspected either so if we can get eyes on this too that would be greatly appreciated for Sunday's show...Alec might have already but just to be certain)
