NPP Projection Report 3/8 Open


To do this evening/ was completed: Daylight savings tonight... not sure how Screenwriter is going to account for this, if at all. I'm leaving the schedule as is for today and will adjust tomorrow if needed.

Special Events/ AV set up: Noticed something really odd about Cinema Paradiso which we can't really do anything about but is worth mentioning. I noticed there's about an hour gap before the next preshow after this show, then saw the feature we received is just over two hours. I've always known this movie to be about 3 hours, though according to IMDb the South Korean theatrical release (as well as an Italian recut) was 2 hours and change so I guess that's the version we received a DCP of--why on God's green earth that would be the case I do not know. While I don't doubt these cuts make the movie easier to sit through, I don't think it was what we were expecting, website lists the runtime as 176 min.
-Heads up Wyatt radioed me to confirm which version we showed since a guest emailed about it (which I had a feeling might happen). Maybe we should update the runtime on the website? I notified Cinema/Conrad/Matthew.

Gladiator played nicely. Cleaned the projectors and put in the 1.85 lenses/plates after the show.

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
