Projection Admin 7/2 Lillian/Alec - the extended cut

To do this evening/ was completed: See the maintenance/cleaning section for a recap of the work done by DMS today.

No staff screenings tomorrow or Friday. Weekly update out. Had our cinema meeting and we're looking good on content. - L

Please take down Life of Chuck letters and poster (shortest Nitehawk run ever?), put up Jurassic World Rebirth and update the 35mm titles tonight. -A

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: SE playlist building can get done tonight. - L

I switched all PG-13-plus A1 playlists to their 7/4 versions for today and tomorrow, so we're not showing the Jurassic trailer at all as it's open now. -A

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up:
Gave Liana from Filmrise the okay to use my email for the Aspera download for Drive. -L

For the private screening on 7/21, Chenelle let me know that they'll be delivering content down to the wire due to the editing process, which I explained would be fine it's more so checking to make sure they're okay with risking it turning in a DCP late (we ask for things in advance so that we know we're good on our end and have done our part). It should be fine, though! Either way we'll make sure we get eyes on it and report back with any issues.  - L

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content):
Gunsmith cats slide ingested
Superman DCPs ingested to the LMS
Death Becomes Her slide and trailer DCP'd and ingested
- L

Desmond sent over the files for the next installment of NoBudge. I've started downloading the files to a folder named "NoBudge 46" on the 4/6 Mac desktop. -A

Ingested Pavements -A

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Packed up Stay Hungry and scheduled a pickup for tomorrow. -A

Maintenance/cleaning:

Chris has changed the relay system in the rack which controls, in part, how the projection equipment responds when the fire alarm goes off for all theaters, except 3 and 7, which we need to order new equipment for. Previously, there were a few redundant relays for each theater. These worked but had the potential to cause some problems, like scheduled shows loading and not starting in Theater 2. The setup has been simplified now, there are now two fire alarm cues on each server:  Fire Alarm Pause, which is what gets triggered when the fire alarm goes off, and Fire Alarm Reset, what we have to fire on each server once we're ready to resume shows. No longer will we have to go around to each booth to reset the lighting panels (except 3/7 until we are able to update that setup).

Chris is still working on simplifying the system for 3/7 (need another network relay that we'll need to order and shipping might delay it's arrival depending on what's available). For 5, he suggests newer, faster switches, though he was able to update the fire alarm setup in there.

He did do separate work on the T3 server today to address the issue with the IMS web GUI becoming inaccessible, which deleted the shows scheduled in that screening room for this week, so I put them back. Everything is okay with that fyi - content is in the IMS, playlists, etc. Please let us know if any issue with Theater 3 reoccurs. -L

This also allowed me to check in with the 35mm projectors in T4 and really give them a good clean. I turned them on after Chris had done work first in T4 just to check in with the equipment as per usual, but the motor and lamp weren't working (we figured out why this was pretty quick as it was blocked from the fire alarm work). P1, however, was briefly acting up with a bad sound coming from the gear section, so I ran a loop to check that the image was stable despite what sounded like lagging. Image was stable, oil for intermittent was fine, turns out the screw that holds the fly wheel in place had become loose. It was also a little busted, so I replaced it with a new one. Cleaned airducts for lamphouse, new gear grease, added a small bit of oil.
Once we moved to T1, I made sure to check the 35 machines once Chris was just about good with the fire alarm setup. Tested them after, too.  -L

One note - the AC units in the first floor booths went down, Matthew was notified and they were back on by 5pm.
