NPP Projection Close 8/11

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Double checked the  Heat Lightning  playlist and brought down mics and stands for the intro. The transition between the short film and feature was smooth and all change overs were seamless. Crowd was loving this one. The print shed a bit but it was nothing out of the ordinary for an older film. Mics and stands were brought back up and both projectors were cleaned/exhausts closed The Odyssey was very kindly readied by Alec this afternoon so starting the film was a breeze. I double checked everything before running the print and took note of the guide roller Jack had issues with the other night. While the guide roller is no longer stuck I did notice/hear the film flapping, for lack of a better word, against the abrasion it made when it was cutting into the plastic. Gently pulling the roller to the end of the metal shaft softens the noise since the film runs...

NPP Projection Report 8/11 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Went through all of the LMS schedule for next week with the updated schedule Matthew sent out last night and made all necessary adjustments. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: 1.37 lenses and plates in place in T1, ran loops on both projectors. Ran a loop in T4 for Odyssey . Cleaned the platter and projector before threading. Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content):  Outgoing/Shipping (content): Reached out to HFC for Beavis return labels. Print/video Inspection: I was just checking the Crash inspection report to see if it had all been inspected. This is 1.66, not 1.85! I changed that in the report. Looked at Heat Lightning with Cristina. It's pretty quiet so we set the volume to 10. cues added to the playlist.  We also went through the playlist to check the preshow and the short. All good! Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Maintenance/cleaning: I em...

NPP Projection Close 8/10

To do this evening/ was completed: Odyssey 35mm went smoothly. Cleaned projector/platter afterward. Scheduled coming week in LMS with some SE exceptions, and the Infants playlist still needs to be made. Beavis and Butthead went smoothly as well. P1 was giving me a decent vertical bounce during the last reel but other than that good show. Print is back on its shipping reels. Responded to Chenelle about the school screenings this week. Spiderman is the only kid-friendly film we have right now so I built and scheduled a playlist for that tomorrow. Preshow starts at 10 am. Ingested Trees Lounge feature to LMS. **I think the Dogville short will need to get tech'd tomorrow as well. I imagine Cristina will mention it but just FYI.** Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Maint...

To do this evening/ was completed: Found out what was causing the issue with The Odyssey yesterday. I sent out an email to projection/Matthew regarding this and with a slight plea to stay on our best (practices) behaviour while we move through the summer brain fog. A read through is necessary, but it would mean a lot to me if you could seriously take it to heart.  Matinee Odyssey show off to a beautiful start.  Presentation Issues: None.  Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built the playlists for Paw Patrol and other SE shows for the coming week.  Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Fix T4 up and added gear grease, checked motor control, ran loops. The guide roller at the bottom I have a few ideas for, since I think I know what might be the problem(s). It's not a major, major issue right now, but we should and will start looking into it. I'll work with Alec on this.  Adjusted lenses/plates and ran loops for Beavis and Butthead in T1. All set for the show tonight!...

To do this evening/ was completed: Basically just Odyssey 35mm tonight. Both shows went smoothly but there were some projector issues. The first issue was a bit of a darkening across the bottom of the screen. Will ran loops after Citizen Ruth and was having issues with darkness on the sides of the screen so he loosened the lens collar knob inside the projector, but this caused the bottom of the image to darken: What you see is not the frame line creeping up at the bottom: framing was correct.  Tightening that lens collar knob seemed to diminish the issue significantly but did not fully get rid of it. I tried to adjust the other lens knob above the lens that shifts the picture horizontally but this didn't do anything. The second issue of the night was me noticing toward the end of the first show that the roller at the bottom of the projector was not spinning at all. I could see that the film was cutting into the inside of the roller, creating a groove that the film was nestling insi...
