NPP Projection Report 8/19 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Timing for 8/21 first run playlists was a little off. A lot had both lights down and feature starting a minute early, so I added the 1min welcome slide at the top. Then the ones that already had the 1min welcome didn't need it, so I took it out of those. Spoons got replaced by Oak Street in T1 for the last round--cue sheet and schedule updated! Built both Trees Lounge playlists, Cat Video Fest, and  Crash 8/26. Scheduled all. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Set up Spoons for tonight, then got word they canceled last minute and broke everything down. Ran a loop in T4. Cleaned the platter and projector and threaded tonight's Odyssey 35mm show. Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Received The Dog Stars and Tommy , ingested both to the LMS. NPP Projection Report 8/18 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: We do not need to provide post-screening inspection reports for Sony prints. The only place that requests two reports is Academy Film Archive. So we can just pack their prints up after the screenings, provided there are no issues which necessitate another inspection. Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ran loops for The Fan . Ran a loop for Odyssey and threaded the show for tonight. Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Escape from L.A. print arrived, it's in booth 1. Outgoing/Shipping (content): Packed up Blind Fury , we can arrange pickup with Sony after The Fan tonight. Print/video Inspection: Looked at Dagger of Kamui and added cues to the playlist Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Maintenance/cleaning: The poster cubby was getting out of hand. NPP Projection Close 8/17

To do this evening/ was completed: Odyssey 35mm went smoothly. Cleaned projector afterward. Blind Fury went mostly smoothly but there seemed to be some issues with the sound. Cristina asked me to turn up the volume during the first reel even though I was already at 9.0. Bumped it to 9.5 and it still sounded odd to her ear. Switched over to reel two (P1) and it sounded better. I inspected a few of the reels' leaders and I didn't see anything indicating an SR track (was running the print with SR selected, inspection report and tech said SR). Seemed like it was a Dolby A print. I told Cristina I could switch over to A or leave it in SR if that sounded good to her, but didn't get a response during the film, so I left it as is. Afterward she told me the sound was different from each projector. Also, I thought it was just the way the Belly print was printed, but I saw it tonight too: top left corner of screen when P1 is running 1.85, there's a bit of black. Looks like maybe t...

Projection Admin 8/17

To do this evening/ was completed: Friendly reminder that we will have to do a post screening report for tonight's Blind Fury, and for The Fan too.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Finished building a bunch of SE playlists, though heads up - we are still waiting on the slide for Trees Lounge. We have the feature and it's already been techd, we just need the slide and we're good to go.  Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Went over the playlist for Blind Fury tonight. Trailer volume is good, slide is good. Ran loops and changed the lenses. All focused and ready for the show.  Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Received the slides for Escape From LA, Crash and Film Feast. NPP Projection Open 8/16

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ran the first reel of Blind Fury for Cristina this morning and logged volumes for the feature and the trailer that precedes reel 1 First Strike screening was exhausting (splitting up an hour and forty seven minutes across eleven reels was certainly a choice) but went flawlessly save for the final changeover which I botched; missed the motor cue and the crowd saw some leader ladies on screen for a split second. Got things back under control and the film ended without any further issues.
