Projection report 10/22 Close



Presentation Issues: The final round of theater 1 had the wrong show scheduled. Parasite was scheduled in a Joker spot. I checked the cue sheets and scheduler last night and I apologize for somehow missing this. Fortunately this was caught before we seated the theater, and Joker ran without a problem.

Additional Notes: Erin was here and shadowed me most of the night

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Erin built the Lighthouse playlist. We do not have the Lighthouse-specific preshow, so we decided to use Generics instead. Once we get the preshow we can just swap it in. (Playlist is currently scheduled for Thur/Fri)

** I asked Erin to schedule shows for Friday using the 102419 playlists. We have a couple of manual starts and missing KDMs, but otherwise we are good to go.

*** we do not have the 'Generic_Halloween_AllAges' preshow that is listed for Beetlejuice (and I don't see it on EVO). For this reason I did not build the Beetlejuice playlist. Projector 1 is also pretty full up right now so I did not send the feature out quite yet.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Spiral for BHFF. Two mics running through the mini mixer, no director's chairs for the q&a. The host went without a mic for their intro. The feature ran with no problems. We taped the q&a, and uploaded it to EVO after the show (note: the camera was set up before the guests were all on stage, so there is a camera adjustment a few minutes into the recording — apologies). All gear has been returned to booth 4/6.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): we received more posters for Marriage Story

Ordering/Receiving (content): Lighthouse has been downloaded from Eclair onto TMS, and sent out to relevant projectors for Thursday/Friday

** waiting on the November 'A' card, which needs to be added to all playlists for Thursday

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: QC'd Jojo Rabbit in theater 2. Looks and sounds great. 5.5 sounded like an appropriate volume level.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Checked and updated

Maintenance/cleaning: Karen & Erin & I discussed programming 1.37 masking cues for The Lighthouse. I agreed that this would be a good idea, considering we have the film for an open ended run (and we will also need a 1.37 setting in theater 3 for the Vincent Price night) — though a search online informs me that The Lighthouse's aspect ratio is actually 1.19, so, uh, let's maybe just see what it looks like.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Erin built out cue sheets for Friday and Saturday.

** Double-checked tomorrow's cue sheet and scheduler. Both seem to be 100% correct.

Marquee updated?: moved the BHFF ad to the right half on the north side — put up some info advertising that Jojo and Lighthouse are opening Thursday on the left half

Posters updated?: put up the Lighthouse poster outside in place of Frozen 2

Cleaning lights on for the night?: yes

Projectors off for the night?: yes

Projection cart by TH5?: yes

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
