NPP Projection Report 1/3 Admin/Open, Alec

Presentation Issues: No issues in the first 1.5 rounds.

-I tried diagnosing last night’s sound problem in theater 3 today, but I could not get the issue to repeat itself. I checked all connections for DCP audio to the CP750 and QSC amps as well as coming from the projector, ran Bombshell for a bit and checked the show playlists screening in there today. The somewhat good news is that cycling power to the CP750 and amps should do the trick if this happens again before we can look into it more closely (when I did this last night the processor muted itself after it came back on but I had control of the mute button and unmuted it without a problem, and there were no more issues with the sound for the rest of the show), if not we can restart the server. Karen suggested it could be that we might need to clean out the amps and sound processor, which sounds to me like a very valid potential cause for the issue. We are waiting to hear whether or not this is something we can safely do ourselves without voiding the warranty.  She also said it could be that we need to update software on the server and/or sound processor. For tonight I asked Gerard to lower the AC in 3/7 from 68 degrees to 64, as both processors were running a bit warm.

Preshow Clips/Playlist:

Trailer Updates: When Erin started the Little Women print, MODs called about the house lights coming up briefly and then going right back down. This is because the automation is set up for shows which are on film from beginning to end (meaning preshow, trailers, and feature all printed on 35mm), so the start button triggers preshow lights and then the first foil cue brings the lights down. Since we only have the feature on 35mm with everything else digital, the lights come up when we push the start button then the foil cue at the head of the first reel brings the lights down. When I asked Dan if this could be changed during the Hollywood run he suggested that it couldn’t but I will hunt around for a manual to double check. For now I made a new All Ages 35mm trailer pack, it’s exactly the same as the normal one except I added several lights down cues in the last few seconds of the Hey Kids PSA, which is what we use to time the start of the print. This should be enough to keep the lights from going up when we press start.

Special Events/ AV set up: Cleaned out 35mm projector #1/platters in booth 1 for the Little Women show tonight. Erin and I threaded the print together and I stayed for the beginning of the show. The print is still looking gorgeous!

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Posters for Parasite, Birds of Prey, and Trolls World Tour came in. Karen also brought us another Parasite poster from WB today.

Ordering/Receiving (content): The drive of 1917 came today. I did not ingest since it doesn't open for a week and we should wait at least until we can delete E.T. before ingesting. Drive checked in the TMS rack and it mounts OK.

-Still no tracking for Matilda or Selena.

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: Teched the E.T. playlist. I put the volume at 5.5 which sounded a bit loud in the empty theater, but both brunches have already sold quite well. Added and tested credit lights cues as well.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Updated 1917 and E.T.

Maintenance/cleaning: Filed down the 1.85 plate on projector 1 in booth 1 with a test loop.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Checked today's again, all set and two copies printed. Put one on the wall by the rack in booth 1 and the other is on the desk in 4/6.

Marquee updated?: Up to date

Posters updated?: Took down the James Bond and redundant Oscar Shorts poster from outside and put up Parasite and Birds of Prey.

Cleaning lights on for the night?: N/a

Projectors off for the night?: N/a
