NPP Projection Report Friday 5/28

To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues: Shortly after 9pm, the lamps on the projectors in theaters 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 all shut off unexpectedly. I got a call from Jesse that there was "sound but no picture" in Theater 7, at which point I checked the VNC screen for that projector from 4/6 and saw the "Unexpected Light Off" error. I turned the lamp back on and rewound the movie 3 minutes. Then I got a call from Eliel at Hi-Res that the "movie stopped" in Theater 4, and saw the same error on that screen and turned the lamp back on. Then I checked the VNC screen for all the projectors and saw the same error on the other projectors listed above. I turned the lamps back on on all of them (none had movies playing) and went around to all these booths to physically check the venting from the projector and the booth A/C, all of which was working properly. I also checked the status menu on all the projectors for any temperature or cooling warnings and there were no warnings on any of them. At this point I left all 7 of the VNC screens up on the iMac for the rest of the night so I could continue monitoring them, as there was no obvious cause for all the lamps to shut off simultaneously like this (other than possibly a power issue?). The lamps stayed on through the rest of the shows. I'll try changing the air filters tomorrow, and ask DMS about refilling the coolant.

Scope masking cue didn't work in Theater 1 tonight, so I opened it with the motor during the second round preshow. The playlist for A Quiet Place in Theater 1 has no cues to set the masking back to flat and has the scope versions of trailers so it was set for the night after that. We will have to check the masking at the start of the first preshow for A Quiet Place in Theater 1 each night to make sure it's open for the trailers/feature.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: I didn't blog this yesterday but I updated the Quiet Place and Cruella playlists with the 7.1 versions of the feature. We should always use the 7.1 version of a DCP when available.

Switched playlists of A Quiet Place in Theater 1 to the "scope" version of the playlist (in these playlists, there is a scope masking cue at the beginning of the playlist, preshow is presented flat, and the projector switches to scope before trailers, both trailers and feature are presented in scope)

Scheduled the "Shutdown" playlist after the last show in each theater Friday-Thursday.

Trailer Updates: Ingested trailers for Conjuring, Old, Green Knight, and a new Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard trailer. I will replace the F9 trailer with Conjuring and add the new Hitman's trailer for the rest of this week's Adult shows.

Special Events/ AV set up:

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Nothing new, but I cleared some posters out of 3/7 which we won't need. There's also four tubes of posters on the workbench for the archive to be picked up when possible.

Ordering/Receiving (content): The drive for Conjuring arrived, it's been ingested.

Spirit Untamed should be coming in on Tuesday.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): UPS picked up all our outgoing drives

Cleared all obsolete features/trailers/show playlists from TMS and IMS servers.

Print/video Inspection: Checked Port Authority and Cruella playlists, all set.
