NPP Projection Report 8/24 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: Now that we are getting more events on our calendar, I'm going to be sending out a weekly email to projection with relevant info and tasks for the coming week. Be on the lookout for that in a few days.

Keys for Candyman will be arriving tonight at midnight, as should keys for all other titles which have been held over (we already have valid keys for Free Guy and Paw Patrol for next week).

Maintenance/cleaning: When I was playing with the 35mm audio in Theater 4 to get a better sense of the issue I figured out what the problem was, I'll go over this with the other projectionists but it has to do with the changeover switch, it has the option to "close" the changeover on the projector but this shouldn't be pressed as it seems to interfere with the sound switching from projector to projector properly. When I switched the between the two projectors using only the "open" switch the audio switched fine every time. The lamp still takes too long to strike and needs to be looked at.

We received a shipment of air filters for the smaller CP2215 projectors. There are boxes of these in 4/6 and 3/7. They'll need to be changed in a few months.

We also received shipments of two of the three filters for the larger CP2220s, the larger filters are on backorder and should be here in a week or so according to DMS.

It looks like there is a leak in the ceiling of theater 2's booth. It is above the rewind bench in the back corner. I will add this to the maintenance doc, just want us all to be aware of it in case it rains again.

There is also some minor condensation I'm noticing on the pipes for the AC in booth 2 as well. It doesn't drip to the floor really, just go in there every so often to wipe down any condensation that's formed.

DMS VISIT:

-ILS board on the projector in Theater 1 has been replaced, this should remedy any issue with low light levels for certain titles.

-The light issue in Theater 7 should be fixed now. We couldn't confirm 100% since the issue is sporadic, but Jerry removed the 5 second dimming timer from Channel 2 (the one which would sometimes stay on and which only switches on or off, despite having dimmable bulbs in the light fixture), so we'll keep an eye on it and note if the issue persists.

-Two of three air filters replaced in Theater 1 and Theater 2's projectors. Waiting on the shipment of the other filter for these machines, once it arrives they will be changed.

-Jerry updated firmware and the security manager on Theater 2's projector, but we ran out of time to update the software before the theater opened. He gave me the files for all three updates, so I will finish updating Theater 2 and update all three for Theater 6 tomorrow. This will hopefully fix the glitch with playlists loading but not starting.

-Jerry was not able to assist with the 35mm projectors, I'll be in touch with DMS to get someone out to look at the lamp in the projector in Theater 4 and confirm the sound is indeed working properly.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Built cue sheets and TMS schedule for Friday 8/27 - Wednesday 9/1 (timing missing for Mulholland Dr.). We can hold off on 9/2 until this Thursday as we'll have to build new playlists and I'd like to be able to delete our current ones (which go out of use on Thursday) before that.
