NPP Projection Report 5/5 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: Wrote on the whiteboard what to look out for over next week when I'm gone: Face/Off in-house DCP and the trailers for Sundays on Fire. Please also keep an eye out for the Videodrome print which will be dropped off by DHL, if it doesn't come by Wednesday 5/11 have John check on the tracking. Please inspect Videodrome when it arrives. It's also a possibility we'll open We're All Going to World's Fair next Friday, but we'll know when we get the film schedule on Monday. If we do get it, it will come through Eclair. I also scheduled a few emails for when I’m gone for reminders about events.

A print of Dog Day Afternoon should be coming on Tuesday 5/10 via FedEx, leave it in booth 1 as it doesn't screen until the beginning of June.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Created the Live HDMI CPL on Theater 1 IMS and built it into a 3 hour playlist for STB on Saturday and scheduled it from 10:30 to 1:30. Its just the HDMI clip with cues to switch the projector input, switch the processor to the Mic input for their laptop sound, and to raise the volume. Cues for lights, projector lamp and dowser, will have to be fired manually when they’re ready to start.

Made DCPs of Blade, Watchmen, and TMNT slides.

Built and scheduled a playlist for the Blade preshow.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Checked microphone levels in Theater 3 at the volume setting I had in the playlist for tonight and raised them a bit.

Went through the playlist with Jack, should go very smoothly.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Received posters for Emergency, placed them in the caddy.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested Batman and This Much I Know keys.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): FedEx did not come to pick up Freeway, I rescheduled for tomorrow.

Print/video Inspection: Doctor Strange is ready to go for tonight.

Checked through the playlist for tonight's private event in Theater 3. Ended up adding a bit of black between the holding slide and live HDMI CPLs to eliminate a flash on screen when the input switched. Otherwise, the playlist worked very well. I think we'll use the live HDMI CPL in every house now when be play blu-rays or have laptops on screen. Jerry said this is recommended by Dolby.

Played through most of a blu-ray with the live HDMI CPL playing in Theater 2. Playback was completely smooth. Also switched between the laptop and blu-ray player without any issues. I think it would probably be best to keep the same cable connected to the projector and switch whatever is on the other end of that (blu-ray player, HDMI converter, laptop) if needed. That should result in more stable playback.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes, added tracking for 35mm trailers for this week's Sundays on Fire screening. They are arriving tomorrow.

Added tracking for the Dog Day Afternoon print, it's coming Tuesday 5/10 but doesn't screen until the beginning of June so this can wait in booth 1 until closer to the screening date.

Filled in runtimes and credits for all prints playing 5/13-5/19 so they can be input on next week's cue sheets. Only missing credits for Watchmen, as we got the theatrical cut and I couldn't find that anywhere online. I'll run the last reel to time the credits before the screening.

Maintenance/cleaning: Jerry and an electrician were here this morning to work on the power issue in Theater 2. The electrician tested the outlet and said there was no problems with the power from it, so they replaced the plug. Jerry also replaced the lamp which eliminated the strobing.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Filled in all timing that was missing from next week's cue sheets, except for This Much I Know which we'll have to check the credit offset for when keys arrive.

Marquee updated?: Added Doctor Strange to the front marquee. Tried to get the whole title up, and I got most of it, however "in the" had to be sacrificed.

Posters updated?: Moved the Doctor Strange poster outside from the lobby, in place of Sonic. Hung Downton Abbey in the lobby. It seemed someone tried to pick one of the locks to the poster case that Doctor Strange was in to try and take it. I managed to get it open eventually and let MOD know about this.

Cleaning lights on for the night?:

Projection cart by entrance?:
