Projection Admin 11/26 Hook & World Cup: Notes



To do this evening/ was completed: Ran Hook this morning. Super fun show! Jack, make sure to keep an eye on your framing. You don't have to ride it the whole time whatsoever, there's just a couple of splices in reels 2, 4 and 8 that might rock the boat a bit. Also, whilst threading up, I noticed a broken perf near the '10' in the head leader on R2. Since it would still run through the projector when you advance to the 8, I put some tape on it. Same thing on R3 near the '7' and halfway between the '7' and '8' on R5. I updated the post-screening document to reflect these changes. This print was def plattered, like, a lot--for reference, notice the white paint in these pictures. Also, as Alec noted before; most head leader is super beat up. I wound up taping over a large tear on R8.





Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: New Hook playlist for tomorrow's screening, which has been scheduled on TMS . Adjusted with Intro, which Desmond will give before The Nightmare Before Christmas trailer plays. The 'server pause' cue is at the 8 second mark, which is where the slide looks its best and brightest after the fade-in. UPDATE: Desmond is out sick, which really sucks. In case anyone else does this intro, we've got two playlists; one without, one with. I've scheduled the one without an intro, but we can change it back if need be. 

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: For the World Cup viewing in Trees, I troubleshooted and tried the ethernet cable connection w/the Aja in 4/6 just to see if it would work after power-cycling, and it didn't. As y'all know from Alec's blog yesterday, he was having issues with the D1 link. I switched back and forth between the sources available on the projector, but still, no budge. Easy fix though-- wound up just doing a simple hdmi connection as Alec did. One adapter, laptop + Fox link, power cable and charger. Since we've been having issues there, there's for sure some sort of circuit fading for a few of the connections we need. 

Setup the DJ in Trees (and met him! Ariel apparently works at the Williamsburg location...I had no idea.) 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): I'm keeping an eye on the departure for The Wiz/The Thing, both of which we will be receiving at the same time. Should be out soon...

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: Rewound Hook for tomorrow's show and, as mentioned above, I went over the heads/tails on all reels to make sure they're in good shape to screen. 

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes

Maintenance/cleaning: New pads for Century's in 4 on both feed and take-up reels. Brushed them out to prevent shedding, though a little is inevitable.  

Put out an order for the two 3L260 v-belts we need for the Kelmar Rewind Tables.

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all! Well, we're just about there! Barbenheimer starts tomorrow. Alec and I ran the print this morning as a dress rehearsal to check image/sound and to give our lovely staff a first look. The print looks really beautiful and I'm very excited for this run. NPP Projection 11/17 Close

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start.
