NPP Projection Report Fri. 2/10 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: Got a warning on the Theater 7 Christie which prevented the first round preshow from starting. The warning read "IMB Service Door is not armed." When this happens, you will also see a red warning icon next to "Security manager" in the Server panel in the Overview tab on the IMS web GUI. The warning comes up when the sensor inside the service door is not properly depressed by the lock. The service door is inside the projector, you have to take the lid off to access it. All I had to do was move the lock a little bit to depress the sensor, got the preshow started about 10 minutes after seating. It shouldn't happen again tonight. I had this problem after installing the SSDs last week, I got the lock in the right position and we hadn't got the warning again until now. Tomorrow morning I will reposition the lock so there's no wiggle room with the sensor, but it should be safe for now. I told McKegg to call me if something does happen, I'll be able to walk him through the fix.

Our booth 1 workstation is set up. Reformatting the computer turned out to be easy, just needed to boot into recovery mode, wipe the internal hard drive, and reinstall the OS. I ordered us a new hard drive to keep with this computer. Downloaded Splashtop, TeamViewer, MakeMKV & HandBrake for ripping blu-rays, and NTFS for Mac (I need to figure out if we can use our license for multiple devices, but will start a 10-day free trail when our new external hard drive arrives).

Did a proper test of the closed captioning in every theater. They are mostly fine, I stood in the front of the theater right by the screen and moved around to try and strain the connection a little bit. 3, 4, 5, and 7 all were fine, no dropouts or lost dialogue. We'll just need to extend the USB for the transmitter over ethernet in 1, 2, and 6. My USB extenders came today... after everything opened. I'll put them to the test in T1 tomorrow morning.

Heads up, the 1.85 lenses were not in the right position. They needed to be moved much closer to the gate, there is a line drawn on both lenses in Sharpie which should line up with the inside of the collar.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist:

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Set up cable in Theater 1 for the Superbowl. For Trees, we should use the laptop since we want to play the game with sound. I still need to set up the cables for sound from the projector, so we can use Digital Link and have the sound play through the bar system, but I can't do this properly with the protection up. If we log in to our Verizon account and stream it that way, the game should play without interruptions, this is what I did for a few of the World Cup matches.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): We got posters for The Boogeyman, they've been sorted in the caddy.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Went ahead and ripped the blu-ray of The Outfit for converting to DCP, even though this isn't for a few weeks. We can convert the DCP when we're through with everything for NSF.

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: Ran some of Being John Malkovich and The Love Witch for Cristina. Both prints look and sound good. I ran both just on SR.

Teched Close and Howl's DCPs, both are ready to go. Set EO masking in Theater 6 for this weekend, too.

Additional Notes: Dylan from Variance got back in touch with us to ask some more questions about the RRR sound issues. I had assumed we were given a different version of the DCP back in June, which was partly true, however the second part of the DCP was exactly the same, making the situation even more mysterious as there were no sound issues when we played it then. I know this for a fact because I was in the audience for one of the screenings. He is going to send us the original part 1, with the trailer, to see if we have the same issues with that. He'll also coordinate getting us keys for the problem DCPs if we have DMS in to check out the issue.
