Projection Admin 6/28



To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. So McKegg had some issues with the masking last night and there's no issues with any of the cues, breakers, or wiring on the rack. What happened is that some of the ethernet cables on the IMB got rearranged by accident when DMS was in. Everything's working just fine.

Presentation Issues: First round in T6 paused about two seconds after it started to automate (when I checked the playlist). MOD called up to let me know and I fast forwarded 3 min in. 

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built and scheduled staff screenings for Indiana Jones 5. I tech'd volume/image/got a good look at credits to make sure everything's accurate--noted the missing preshow content from Jack/McKegg's blog, but the preshow part of the playlists had been built and some were scheduled. Can I ask that we don't put another preshow in the playlist as filler before receiving accurate content? This really confused me until I double checked the trailer list, but only after filling out the cue sheets. If we're ever waiting on content, please make a note of what it is we need exactly and do not make an incorrect playlist. In this case, I don't think it would have changed the timing, but it could have, so let's just wait next time. Thanks! Downloaded the single Harrison Ford preshow piece.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Mixer is set up in T4 for Alien From LA intro. Please turn it on and hand Cristina the spots remote when the time comes. 

Chenelle updated the Event Memo for tomorrow's private (Now&Then), which has a slideshow in place of preshow. I downloaded the slide show, made a DCP, ingested it to the TMS. It's called This is 40 and gets played twice. There is also a link to a Spotify playlist for this event, which will run with the 'preshow' slideshow.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Reached out to Deluxe about the keys for Jaws. They'll be sent out tonight after 9pm. Keys for Jaws and Nashville will both open up on Friday. Waiting on the keys for Wolf of Wall Street

Maintenance/cleaning: Alec continued work on the platter for T4. 

I ordered round fitted sheets for the platter in T1. We should receive two of them. Waiting on Gil to approve the order. Gave him a little bump via email. 

Ran loops in T4 this morning and re-masked the port glass with tape to get rid of bleed. I got the Masters of the Universe trailer out for the show this evening, but it snapped on me when I went to go run it. The print felt quite stiff. Not quite brittle, just stiff, and a tad bit warped. I was surprised, but not massively shocked by this considering they're all relatively old and not in tip top condition. I tried to repair the damaged areas and then inspected the whole thing to make sure nothing else was going on and found a few bits of edge damage that ran through the projector right before it snapped. I was more surprised when Cristina's second choice, Super Girl, also snapped. Upon further inspection, it also on the stiff side. I made sure my threading wasn't too tight where the sound head is since that's a prime location for breakage if there's too much space on either side of the drum. We won't be showing Mulan ran through just fine! We will, of course, continue to check in on these projectors and get some good maintenance done. I'll be checking in with these projectors tomorrow morning. 

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Checked the sheets for today and tomorrow. We'll get offset info for the rental in T6 tomorrow morning. Added the offset information for Indiana Jones on the 6/30 cue sheets (and for tomorrow, too). 

Marquee updated?: We can either add Indiana Jones to the marquee late this evening or tomorrow morning. After tomorrow, we lose The Flash, so that can get taken down Friday morning.

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all! Well, we're just about there! Barbenheimer starts tomorrow. Alec and I ran the print this morning as a dress rehearsal to check image/sound and to give our lovely staff a first look. The print looks really beautiful and I'm very excited for this run. NPP Projection 11/17 Close

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start.
