NPP Projection Close 8/17 Lillian and Will (Big Maintenance Day)

To do this evening/ was completed: Hi all, this is Lillian. My notes are highlighted below, the rest is Will. 

Earlier today I sent an email out detailing the issues and the resolve for T3. We lost two shows, which sucks, but I'm confident we'll be okay moving forward. Alec and I are pushing DMS for a permanent solution for what seems to be a somewhat consistent issue and I made it clear that we cannot have service technicians showing up as late as they did today. This happened not that long ago in T1 and we needed just as much time now as we did then. Time is one of our most valuable resources and we are a 7 screen theatre that opens up in early afternoon. I forwarded the thread to projection, but I'll do a recap here: Ultimately, we wound up putting the old IMS (which is also an IMB) back in as well as replacing the PIB. During some troubleshooting, I asked if Gabe could pull a log between the small window we'd have after rebooting. Chris took a look and mentioned some kind of weird communication between the PIB and IMB (these two are always in communication with one another, but something seemed off). Alec informed me we had a spare PIB in storage in 4/6 (thank you, Alec). So the combination of replacing the PIB (which has some visible corrosion, so that was probably part of it) along with using the old IMS, is working for us so far. T3 is still stable. The old PIB is in 4/6, same box and everything. We'll be monitoring this. MOD and I were in constant communication throughout the entire day to make sure we were on the same page and had back up plans for the evening shows. 

I ran Viva in T1. This show was the most fun I've had in ages. It was such a pleasure. That being said, I got a few not-so-great notes. Whilst the show itself went totally fine, I am going to have to ask that everyone PLEASE remember to check the memory card for the camera. I went to record and it went out on me pretty much at the start of the Q&A, so I had to delete a bunch of stuff off of it and then start again. This camera was used just a few days ago. If you are the last person to use the camera, please double check to make sure there's a decent amount of space after you upload the files/try to delete them once they're on the comp and backed up. This was a BIG week. When there's a lot going on maintenance wise, we really need all hands on deck to make sure that everything else is smooth. Another thing: The spotlight board combination for centre spots is either incorrect or I didn't press something right. We got a spot up, but it could've been less janky. I will re-inspect this tomorrow. Projectors are cooled down/ powered off. I'll clean them in the AM. 

I noticed we didn't have Old Boy set for tomorrow, so I tech'd that. Notes on are on the laptop. Will is going to make the playlist tonight and I'll check tomorrow. 

Realized we didn't have a staff screening for Blue Beetle, but a regular A1 playlist for BB was scheduled tomorrow at 10:50am?? I sent out an email to staff this evening. 

Made the usual rounds throughout the night and paid close attention to playback in theater 3 during the final screening of Blue Beetle

Presentation Issues: Technical issues in theater 3 prevented us from running Blue Beetle as scheduled but Lillian and Gabe resolved the the issue this afternoon and by the time the final round began everything was back to functioning normally

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Re-built and scheduled the show playlist for Oldboy since not all file elements were downloaded for the intro + Q&A portions of the show and needed to be added; also built a new trailer pack specifically for this show and updated the cue sheets accordingly for the entire week

Tech'd Oldboy in theater 7 before leaving and everything looks and sounds great

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: The last show of Oppenheimer in 35mm went well and the print was ran back up to the top platter after it ended for Alec to break down tomorrow (rectifiers and circuit breaker switches have been turned off)

Uploaded Viva Q&A footage to the shared drive (two clips, one much longer than the other, due to the camera cutting off due to lack of space after Lillian started recording)
