NPP Projection Report 8/18 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed: The fun just refuses to stop this week! About 20 minutes into the feature during the first round in T2 one of the fluorescent lights started flickering. Same thing that was happening in one, only resetting the emergency light breakers did not stop the flicker no matter how many times I tried, when I turned the breakers off the emergency lights would all come on (with the problem light not flickering), then when I turned the breakers on the light started flickering again and wouldn’t stop. Eventually I stopped the show and MODs cleared the theater. Lillian and I moved the big ladder from under the curtain in 1 and brought it into 2, and with the help of Paul, Wyatt, and Jared set up the ladder and I went into the ceiling to disable the light. I cut three wires to the power supply one which disabled it and activated the emergency setting, one which didn’t have any effect on that, and then one which deactivated the emergency light. We stored the ladder behind the curtain in 2. Vlad is going to be here Monday morning to check it out.

Broke down Oppenheimer, it is all packed up. I wrongly assumed the return labels that were included would be FedEx Express labels but they’re Ground, so I couldn’t schedule a same-day pick up. Planned to cart them over to the nearest dropoff when Lillian arrived but the T2 fiasco derailed that plan. The nearest dropoff is in a Walgreens, the address is 589 Prospect Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215. The phone number is (347) 955-3029. I would recommend calling to see if the FedEx part is open over the weekend before bringing the huge boxes over, but if it is Jack, would you mind doing this on your way out tomorrow? Universal wants it shipped back ASAP.  If it’s not open, it will have to wait until Monday, and we can just schedule a pickup like we would with any other print.

I made some “info sheets” for prints for a more at-a-glance picture when projecting (frames between CO cue and end of reel, notable damage, condition, etc.) There’s copies on each rewind bench.

T3 is holding up, and I think it will continue to do so. Scheduler remains off so the projector and server will remain on overnight. As always make sure the shutdown playlist is scheduled at the end of the night so the lamp shuts off. Still speaking to DMS about what could be the problem, they suggested maybe replacing a backplane in the projector. I told them we’d like to go ahead with that.
