Projection Admin 8/31



To do this evening/ was completed: Hey everyone, so the kitchen did a fire alarm test today, which triggered the booths. I didn't realize it was the kitchen since we weren't made aware of this in advance, but we figured something just got bumped this morning by accident. Reset the booths, but theatres 3 & 7 gave Jack and I quite a bit of grief. Tried resetting the panels, breakers, rebooting the system, fire alarm cues, and even then they wouldn't budge, so we killed the breakers for the ceilings lights (36 & 28). For now, since we only have two options (house lights down and cleaning lights), we're going to be using cleaning lights for preshow and house lights down for the feature. MOD is aware and Wyatt is helping out with this since Will has a private event/35mm tonight. MOD will walkie us a few minutes before the next round to make sure we're prepped for the switch with lights, but if we're not available, they'll do it. I called Juan about this and he said he reset everything properly this morning after the test. Called MiT and they gave me the service email to relay what the issue to. Gave Alec a call, but we'll discuss tomorrow and keep you posted. 


Ran loops in T1 and cleaned the projectors afterward. Put Speed Racer on house reels and taped up Wild At Heart--scheduled a pickup for it tomorrow morning.

Tech'd Bottoms and Equalizer playlists--all good to go. Bumped volume a little on Bottoms.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Noted in our email thread for 9/1 content that the mix for both the new Policy and How To have pretty wild sound mixes. It's not terrible, but not great either. I adjusted volume for the Policy in all trailer packs/special events playlists. Adjusted volume for the How To in all playlists. Took a hot minute, but got it all done before opening! 

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Rented The List for this evening. I tested volume, aspect ratio. Everything's looking good! Adjusted the lens a little bit since it looks better in Scope, but needed to be brought down ever so slightly. Jack set up the mic. Cue sheets got updated. I took Will through the setup today and he's all good. Should be a great show. 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Received the poster for the private event tonight. Jack put this up outside. I'll take it down tomorrow.

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start. NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
