NPP Projection Admin 9/19 Jack/Alec

To do this evening/ was completed: Built Dumb Money and It Lives Inside playlists, TMS scheduled for the upcoming week. Built the 9/25 NoBudge playlist as well, with all masking/lens/volume cues included.

Rear Window ingested to T2.

Wired mic set up in T1.

Reviewed reseating the IMB with Alec--very easy.

Philip from 32 Sounds came by to tech the feature and equipment. The movie will run off a file connected to our HDMI/DVI input in T1.

Got a complaint last night that the volume for Haunting in Venice was too low. Bumped it to 6.3 and it sounded right--updated all playlists.

Brought The Dark Knight down to the side entrance and Matthew picked it up a short while later.

Inspected reels eight and nine of Benjamin Button--just #10 left.

Downloaded the zip file for Dismantle Me--it's still going as I write this, almost finished. It's on the desktop.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: I checked through the Industrial Musicals playlist and added a few automation cues, went over the run of show with McKegg. The wired mic/PA is set up in the theater. Should be a smooth evening. -AL

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Phillip was here to tech 32 Sounds. This went well and we should be all set for this screening on Thursday night. He'll have his laptop set-up in the booth, connected to the projector and audio processor, and he'll control sound and the film remotely from the theater. The headphones set-up is being done on their end, but it worked well today. For Thursday, there is one bin of headphones and a bin of misc. equipment (charges etc.) under the curtain in Theater 1, another bin of headphones which was dropped off today in booth 1, and the remaining 4 bins of headphones are still in 4/6. The booth is basically ready for Phillip to connect his computer again like he did today but I will point out everything he'll need to Lillian tomorrow. -AL

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Received Saltburn, Exorcist, and Trolls posters.

Ordering/Receiving (content): We got tracking for New Jack City, it should be here on Thursday.

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection:

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?:

Maintenance/cleaning: I'm working on the turrets in Theater 1, on the 35mm projectors. I believe these being loose is what caused the image from P1 to appear jittery/bouncy as Jack described last night. I played with the P1 turret for a while, trying to adjust the allen screw & nut at the top which holds the turret in place. This is what DMS did over a year ago when we had this same issue with P2. It seemed to be improving slightly but the jitter wasn't going away entirely so I eventually loosened the turret all the way to reposition it and then tightened it back on as much as I could. The theater had opened by the time I finished but I will run some film tomorrow to check and keep working on it if need be. - AL

Assisted listening devices are working again in T7. Since CaptiViews were working and not the Fidelios, it was likely this that needed to be power cycled:
This picture was taken in booth 1 but this little device will always be by the Fidelio transmitter, which for T7 is by the projector and not the A/V rack. After I power cycled this the Fidelios were working again (I also reseated a few other cables before trying them again but this was almost definitely the issue). I think some other cabling had been switched at some point, too, since when the devices came back on I only got sound effects and music, no dialogue. After switching one of the cables on the transmitter I heard the dialogue again. -AL
