Projection Admin 9/15



To do this evening/ was completed: Last night I went through the sound setup for Spotify with Will, so if anyone needs a refresher for how to hook this up, I added a Spotify section to the projectionist manual here. Please continue downloading NewFest shorts. I downloaded Lucky Fish and Last Call to the DCPII, they're ingesting right now. AlmaMula is downloading via Cyberduck in T1. Successfully downloaded Chestnut to the desktop in 4/6, but have yet to extract. Please extract this evening if the comp is feeling up to the task. 

You might've noticed that our PC is currently down in T4. We're 98 percent certain it's the drive. I ran diagnostics today, but it won't get back up. This isn't a huge issue since we can tap into T4 elsewhere, but we'll talk to DMS about it. I emailed them today for other, more pressing matters. 

I set up a USB extender in Theater 5 for the CaptiView transmitter. I tested a closed caption device around the room and it's working nicely! -AL

I checked out the spotlight in Theater 4 that hasn't been working. I tried changing the batteries but it still wasn't turning on. I moved the other one over to this spot since it's a better position for intros. Also ordered two more, since one in Th6 broke, as well. -AL

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built the playlist for Industrial Musicals. I'll double check this Monday to make sure everything's set for Tuesday since the last two shorts don't have their proper names in the CPL. A few notes on this show: the Edsel short is supposed to be no.5 but says no 6 (just like the next short, Silicones). Ignore the numbering. Additionally, the reason there's no no.7 short is because Steve will be playing a live song instead, to fill in that section where the film would be. it then moves on to no.8. Just pause on the slide as you will do before and after each short. Event Memo: here

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Made and ingested the slide for Industrial Musicals on 9/19. 

Alec ingested the new Like Water for Chocolate DCP. Got my eyes on this. Looks and sounds great! Adjusted volume in the playlist. Added to the TMS schedule. 

Tidied up a bunch of stray cables in the booths theaters. There were still a bunch of XLR cables under the curtain in 1 from yesterday, most of which we didn't end up using. There were also a couple things missing from the Trees bin which I returned. Please check the list of cables, equipment, adapters, etc on the bin when breaking down an event and make sure everything gets put away and anything extra gets put back where it belongs. Each of the bins throughout the building has a list of contents on it. -AL

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Brought Secret Ceremony down to the kitchen this morning. DHL picked this up! The Academy received Bullet in the Head earlier this week, so that's good news.

Maintenance/cleaning: Switched the lenses/plates for Scope tomorrow. Ran loops for The Dark Knight 

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Yes. Checked today and the weekend. Added Prince of Darkness offset for Monday (tough to find. thank you, random German streaming website!). 

Marquee updated?: Added 9/17 next to 9/16 for The Dark Knight.

To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all! Well, we're just about there! Barbenheimer starts tomorrow. Alec and I ran the print this morning as a dress rehearsal to check image/sound and to give our lovely staff a first look. The print looks really beautiful and I'm very excited for this run. NPP Projection 11/17 Close

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start.
