NPP Projection Report 12/23 Open Alec (not Jack)

 Trolls poster should come down and the title removed from the marquee. Intended to do this myself but working on the T4 projector basically ate up the whole day.

Presentation Issues: Towards the end of the first round preshow in Theater 4 Gil radioed me that the screen was dark in Theater 4 and sound was still playing. I saw an error message on the touch panel saying "LampLOC board communication failure" and assuming this was related to the dark screen tried restarting the projector with no luck removing the error or restoring the picture. This round was ultimately canceled. 

I called Christie who suggested I reseat the IMCB which I did twice and this had no effect on either the error message or the picture. Matthew got hold of Gregg at DMS who contacted Jerry who deduced that the douser assembly was likely broken and that the error message was just a coincidence as it shouldn't make the image disappear like that. He walked me through removing the douser assembly. By this point we had canceled the second round.

Removing the douser assembly got the image back. The rest of this isn't super necessary info but reporting it anyway: after taking the douser assembly out I got a strange green staticky screen, I must have jostled one of the LEQD boards when removing the douser because once I resat all of those it was fine. We were back open for the 5:30 Wonka.

Jerry suggested removing douser cues from the playlists so I started making T4 playlists with an altered pack at the start (DCP_Flat_1:85_PS_TempT4), douser close cue removed from the end of the feature, and altered lens/masking change packs with both douser cues removed (these have _TempT4 at the end of the name, only made scope and 1.66 ones so far). I made and scheduled everything we need through Monday so please continue.

Please also delete all the regular show playlists from the T4 server once all the T4 specific ones are built so they’re not accidentally selected for a manual start.

Additionally it’s best to just leave the douser open button selected on the touchscreen and not fire either of the douser automation cues.

The LampLOC error is still fairly significant although it won’t affect the presentation for now. The LampLOC sensors which adjust the lamps position and measure its brightness are not working, but we won’t need to realign anything until the lamp is changed again which won’t be for a while since a new one was put in just two weeks ago. The machine can’t perform the LampLOC which is what it has to do when a new lamp is put in. We’ll get DMS to fix this after the holidays when the douser assembly is replaced.

Note that this error will appear when the projector is powered on each morning. Simply acknowledge it so you can use the touch screen controls if need be (but please leave the douser open button selected).

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Updated Migration playlists to raise the volume to 5.5. Feature was too quiet at 5.0.

Special Events/ AV set up: It's a Wonderful Life went well. Bumped the volume to 7.5 as it had a big crowd. Updated the playlist for tomorrow.
