NPP Projection Open 8/13



To do this evening/ was completed: A solo opening shift left me plenty to do along with the usual Tuesday business. 

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: I made modifications to the Miseducation of Cameron Post and Appropriate Behavior playlists and added the DCP Show End to both. 

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Desmond sent an email out saying to have the Appropriate Behavior and Miseducation of Cameron Post events start earlier at 11:45 instead of 11:50. He also noted we should bring the house lights up more or less as soon as credits start to roll into the Q+A. In our tech I didn't put in a lights half cue over the credits because it already came up with the Q+A slide so I don't know if we want to add it to the playlist or just have it done manually that day. 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): I looked at the subtitles for Cardcaptor Sakura which we have in September to make sure everything looked right and it does! I started a Handbrake conversion then moved it downstairs to 1 to convert through DCP-o-Matic. 

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: Desmond came by to look at Crooklyn, Miseducation of Cameron Post, and Appropriate Behavior today. I noted the volume for Crooklyn (8.0 on both) and the other two (5.5 each). With Appropriate Behavior something with the aspect ratio the DCP said it was in was off. It said 1.78, but still had borders on the sides and top. We looked at it in 2.00 instead and it looked better without anything getting cut off.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Cue sheets for next week are complete with the exception of Blink Twice and a couple events.

To do this evening/ was completed:v Mandy ingested to T1. Reached out to Vision for new posters. Was placed on hold, which was more an unending cycle of pressing 1 for hold and then being told to press 0 for voicemail or 1 for hold. Point being I left a voicemail requesting new posters. Gave them our account number, location and my cell. Outgoing marquee letters taken down. 11/10 playlists and forecasts deleted, Chicken Run V2 and Christmas Action trailers downloaded and ingested, 11/24 A1 playlists and packs built. Inspected Raising Cain print. It's in good condition, minimal scratching, no splices. Inspection sheet filled out. Transferred Marvels content to T6, as it was missing from the server due to the 1:20 tomorrow being a manual start. NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
