NPP Projection Report 3/1 Open


To do this evening/ was completed: Hey everyone, please remember to check the actual runtime of new first run features against the Film Bot runtime (Matthew always puts this in the schedule email for the week the film opens) when we get the film schedule for the week. Noticed today the runtime for Captain America was 135 min in Film Bot but it's actually 118. Not creating negative flips but it affects showtime placement. If the actual runtime is any longer than what Film Bot has you should always let Conrad and Matthew know. I'd say if it's 5 minutes shorter or more that should be flagged, too. I emailed Matthew and Conrad about Captain America.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: I put the event placeholder (7 hours) in the schedule for T1 & T2 Oscars tomorrow. This "finishes" at 12:35 so the lamp is scheduled to shut off at 12:40. The Oscars (hopefully) won't go this late, so please manually shut off the lamps in 1 & 2 at the end of the night.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Don't forget to play the Full Metal Jacket trailer before Clockwork tomorrow morning. I added a small piece of black leader to the end; I waited a mite too long to change over and there was a white screen for a split second at the end of the trailer, but the leader will give you a hard cut to black. This can stay attached when we return this trailer to Walter.

Played the trailer in 1.66 at 8.5 on the 500 (left 750 at 7.5). It's mono so remember to switch to Dolby Digital before you start the feature.

Clockwork played nicely. As per usual, I rewound all the reels and cleaned the projectors after the show.

I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
