To do this evening/ was completed: Went through all of the remaining NSF playlists one more time to make sure everything is right. They're all good to go. Looked at 12 Monkeys, all good.

Damsels in Distress looked at, all good.

Inspected the first reel of Rules of the Game. The inspection report is open on the desktop in T1.

Trailer Updates: Trailer packs updated. Ingested the trailer for Friendship - Lillian

Special Events/ AV set up: Set up a 2x1 HDMI switcher and audio extractor in Theater 1 which will allow us to switch between laptop/cable setups without having to move any cables around. It even has a remote, which I wasn't expecting. Another is on the way for Theater 2 and should be here tonight. -A

Maintenance/cleaning: Changed lamps in Theater 1 and Theater 2 Christies. I believe the installation of the lamp in the T2 projector cause it to decline more rapidly than usual. The envelope was pretty black and the elements inside had burned down in a really gnarly way. Not normal for how long we were using it. Part of the anode clamp had been removed and put back on backwards, which prevented the clamp from being fully flush with the lamp (reminder this was DMS's projector, and I'm pretty sure they also installed the lamp, so not the fault of anyone at Nitehawk). I took it off and put it on the right way. It was also entered in the projector as the wrong model bulb but I don't think that would have caused anything like this.
As regards Theater 1, I'm hoping that keeping LampLOC turned on for all light files (this allows the projector to modulate how much power the lamp is getting depending on what's on screen) will keep the lamp looking its best for the entire warranty period, and beyond hopefully. The was turned off in the past to set the lamp at a constant rate of power, but after looking into it a bit I don't think this is a great idea and we're probably best off leaving LampLOC turned on. It's on for all of Theater 2's light files as well. Bit of a different story with the smaller projectors as they are bright enough at the minimum power percentage (62%).
That said, I might look into other makes of lamps to get instead of Christie. I'm not certain but I have a hunch the quality of their lamps might be declining. -A

While changing the lamp in Theater 2 I retaped the duct to the exhaust opening on the top of the projector. It really needed it. I used duct tape and put it on securely, so there should be good ventilation and it won't slip off. It will be fine, but this duct is getting a little old and has been removed/retaped on a few times. Time for me to replace it. -A

About the ventilation, I noticed in Theater 1 the exhaust for the Christie was a bit weak. We must remember to close the exhaust ducts for the 35mm projectors when they're not in use. This used to be a regular practice but we've fallen out of the habit. It is really important, there is a noticeable difference in the airflow from the Christie lamp area when the 35mm lamphouse ducts are open. -A
