NPP Projection Admin 11/6


To do this evening/ was completed: Staff Screening email has been sent out. Playlists are built, scheduled, and have been blocked on the calendar. Had our cinema meeting today and we're doing well on content. We got everything we need this week (received Beyond the Mat today, which Alec inspected, our second First Run, and Ninja Scroll). Presentation Issues: MOD radioed me that the curtains didn't open for Anora in Theater 2. Went to check the motor and it was off despite being plugged in, so I checked the breakers in the booth and sure enough the breaker for the theater outlets had been tripped, most likely by the construction workers. Once I got the breaker back on I just opened the curtains with the scope masking cue. -AWL

Preshow Clips/Playlist: KDM for Penguins opens up tomorrow, as do our first runs. This eve we received the DCP of The Graduates, along with the short film. Ingested both and built the staff screening playlist. I'll take a look at all content tomorrow and then build out the playlists for it. - LH

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up:  Started on the DCP for Paradise Lost today - It will finish to the preshows and trailers drive very soon this evening, so please ingest this directly to T4, if you can. - LH

Attack the Block finished transcoding in T1 today, so I am copying it over to a drive. Please ingest this along with the slides for the Graduate. I made two versions and I'd like to check them out tomorrow. LH

I sent out American Movie to the Academy today after the screening - LH

Print/video Inspection: Teched the Ferris Bueller DCP for Friday's school screening. No issues with it. Built and scheduled the playlist -AWL

Screened American Movie for staff today and resinsepected the whole print after. Since we have Seven Samurai tonight, I adjusted the lenses after the show for 1.37 (and plates), cleaned the projectors, and ran loops. - LH


Inspected all of Beyond the Mat. It's in excellent shape. It's one of those windowboxed prints, 1.37 in 1.85 matting. -AWL

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey all. Thanks for the Christmas coverage and for quickly hopping on board to accompany Alec while he's out for a little while - I really appreciate it. We've just about got our schedule sorted, so please remember to take a look to see the changes made.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Double checked that T6 and T6 specific playlists are all set.  Tomorrow! Please get your eyes on When Harry Met Sally just to check sound/image and credits info. Screens this Saturday/Sunday but the keys open up tomorrow. I adjusted the playlist based on the ingest letter (and looked it up online, but the offset is a little different, so you'll want to make sure!) Thanks!
