NPP Projection Report 6/21

To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built playlists for The Land Before Time (with intro and without), Hellraiser II preshow, and College Boys Live. Haven’t built Desert Hearts yet as there’s no preshow listed on the trailer list.

Scheduled all first run playlists for Friday 6/24 through Thursday 6/30, except Minions and Lightyear for the 30th, Minions trailer will need to be replaced in the latter.

Downloaded and ingested a special trailer for the Bling Ring screening tomorrow. Still waiting on the video for the performance.

Trailer Updates: Removed the Leading Ladies of Sci-Fi trailer from the V1 PG-13 trailer pack, this one was only supposed to have the Carl Franklin trailer.

Special Events/ AV set up: Trivia in Trees Lounge went very well. Cables and mic are back in 4/6, unused posters returned to 3/7.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Received more DC Super Pets posters and Black Adam posters.

New Trail Mix drive came.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Transferred the Desert Hearts DCP to Theater 5.

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Double Team and D.E.B.S. prints did not get picked up today. As far as I know the courier never came. I asked Sony if they would schedule a pickup for tomorrow, but they said they weren’t sure if the courier would come or not.

Print/video Inspection: Ran some of The Bling Ring and Jade prints with Cristina in Theaters 1 and 4, respectively. Both prints looked good, though the scratches on the Bling Ring print are visible on screen, though they’re not so prominent as to be very distracting.

Inspected the first four reels of The Matrix print. It’s in good condition, you can tell it’s been projected a lot, but should look good on screen.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Added key info for The Black Phone.

Added tracking for Supernova, Out of Time, and Wild Wild West prints. First two are coming Friday, Wild West is coming Monday.

Maintenance/cleaning: Checked the DCP lens files on the Theater 4 Christie. The 1.85 was zoomed in too far for the screen and offset a bit to the left. I zoomed it out and had to nudge the projector over to get the offset right. I also checked the scope, 2.00:1, 1.78:1, and 1.33:1 lens files, all of which needed adjusting. Focus was a bit soft on the 2.00:1 file and both 1.78 and 1.33 files were zoomed way out and completely out of focus. Scope was mostly fine, though I zoomed it in a little bit and masked some of the edges to better fit the masking. I think the more minor ILS issues (1.85, 2.00, and scope) were a result of the projector being bumped into during 35 screenings. The 1.78 and 1.33 however wouldn't have changed so drastically from the projector being nudged slightly. It could have been drift over time as we haven't used either in a while, or an actual ILS issue. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days and if the files don't remain as I set them I'll contact DMS.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Filled in cue sheets for Friday 6/24 through Thursday 6/30, except for the shows for the 30th I haven’t scheduled yet.
