Dear Mama download seemed to fail shortly after it was started. I tried to reinitiate it, which sent a new download code to Desmond but I didn't hear back about it in time. All to say we need to try to download again. Tech'd CatVideoFest and Is God Is. Because the maintenance with Roger took a while I wasn't able to look at Is God Is in T4, so I sent it to T3 and looked at it there. Looks and sounds good, lowered volume to 5.2. To do this evening/ was completed: We are all set for both Trees Lounge shows tonight. I reached out to Cristina to see what she wanted for the spots/wash situation since it's a big event (and I didn't want the QR code to get blurred out, particularly in T2). I made a preset with a multicolored wash with spots and ran a few sets past her. We're using the same sequence for both the intro and Q&A in T1, which is on a white card up in the booth. There's also only one setting we'll need in T2 since it's just an intro, which is taped up in the booth. I ran through the playlists to double check everything. Good to go. There are two chairs off to the side in T1, but I put a few pieces of tape down to mark them for where they should be during the Q&S. Should be a breeze. Cristina asked me to turn up the volume during the first reel even though I was already at 9.0. Bumped it to 9.5 and it still sounded odd to her ear. Switched over to reel two (P1) and it sounded better. I inspected a few of the reels' leaders and I didn't see anything indicating an SR track (was running the print with SR selected, inspection report and tech said SR). Seemed like it was a Dolby A print. I told Cristina I could switch over to A or leave it in SR if that sounded good to her, but didn't get a response during the film, so I left it as is. Afterward she told me the sound was different from each projector. Got things back under control and the film ended without any further issues. I double checked everything before running the print and took note of the guide roller Jack had issues with the other night. While the guide roller is no longer stuck I did notice/hear the film flapping, for lack of a better word, against the abrasion it made when it was cutting into the plastic. I sent out an email to projection/Matthew regarding this and with a slight plea to stay on our best (practices) behaviour while we move through the summer brain fog. A read through is necessary, but it would mean a lot to me if you could seriously take it to heart.  Matinee Odyssey show off to a beautiful start.  Presentation Issues: None.  Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built the playlists for Paw Patrol and other SE shows for the coming week.  Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Fix T4 up and added gear grease, checked motor control, ran loops. To do this evening/ was completed: Basically just Odyssey 35mm tonight. Both shows went smoothly but there were some projector issues. The first issue was a bit of a darkening across the bottom of the screen. Will ran loops after Citizen Ruth and was having issues with darkness on the sides of the screen so he loosened the lens collar knob inside the projector, but this caused the bottom of the image to darken: What you see is not the frame line creeping up at the bottom: framing was correct.  Tightening that lens collar knob seemed to diminish the issue significantly but did not fully get rid of it. I tried to adjust the other lens knob above the lens that shifts the picture horizontally but this didn't do anything. The second issue of the night was me noticing toward the end of the first show that the roller at the bottom of the projector was not spinning at all. I could see that the film was cutting into the inside of the roller, creating a groove that the film was nestling insi...

All of the 8/7 R playlists have the Oak Street, Tony, and Miasma trailers, which all open early on the 13th, so we might as well just schedule next week's version of these playlists for this day. Having two events immediately post 35mm is something we should maybe try to avoid next time, but both of them went well. We had an unexpected issue with losing power from all outlets in T4, which meant the masking did not execute for The Odyssey, final round. I gave Will trouble shooting notes whilst running the event in T4 since, unfortunately, this issue coincided with the Q&A. We're running an extension cable from the theater to the server station, but I've contacted Vlad to see how fast they can get in here. Update: Looks like we tripped a breaker. I finagled with the one in T4, tried a phone charger with  one of the outlets along the brick wall and it worked (despite the fact that that outlet is not secure and needs to be fixed).
