Projection Mid/Close Lillian and Will

To do this evening/ was completed: This was a little bit of a chaotic shift, but we've handled it as best we could. Having two events immediately post 35mm is something we should maybe try to avoid next time, but both of them went well. We had an unexpected issue with losing power from all outlets in T4, which meant the masking did not execute for The Odyssey, final round. I gave Will trouble shooting notes whilst running the event in T4 since, unfortunately, this issue coincided with the Q&A. We're running an extension cable from the theater to the server station, but I've contacted Vlad to see how fast they can get in here. Update: Looks like we tripped a breaker. I finagled with the one in T4, tried a phone charger with  one of the outlets along the brick wall and it worked (despite the fact that that outlet is not secure and needs to be fixed). I'm having Will try the original outlet for the masking motor at the end of the night. - L

*Tried the outlets after the show and these are functional; power is restored to the motor and the curtains are opening and closing normally -WB

Few notes on the events below.

First round Odyssey on 35mm in T4 went extremely well. Print still looks great. - L

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Ingested and updated all playlists (that need it) with the new Class of 96 V2 trailer. - L

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Setup the mics and stands in T3 today using the T7 mixer whilst we wait for our new one for T3. Brought the chairs down and setup in T1. - L

*Mics from T1 are back in the booth charging -WB

Will notified me that the masking wasn't working for 1.37 in T3 for the Dark Room shorts, which is usually set on the variable ratio (though we were using this for Obsession's 1.50 and Jack has changed it to 1.37 for this event) but the variable ratio cue was not in the playlist, though the pack for 1.37 was, we just needed the variable ratio cue in there. This was the only hiccup during the shorts program. If you tech a program and build the playlist, please be extra careful. I will also say that that was missed on our part, too. Other than that, kind of minor, and everything else was great from what Will relayed. - L

Folks were super happy and excited during the Andrew Stanton Q&A. Next time we do something like this where folks need to record audio, I'm going to see if I can tap them into the wireless mic mixer instead of the mixer in the booth because, as it turned out, Andrew needed sound from his laptop which meant the PA would have been a lot easier so we could have sound for mics and laptop at the same time. I slipped on Andrew using his laptop (admittedly, this was put all the way at the bottom in the event memo, rather than the top, though it was briefly noted in the email thread where the primary question was for how their techs would record sound. this, too, could have been a little more organized, I think) but quickly got him setup before the show and during the presentation I would just switch between sources if he needed it. They started the Q&A early when Ben (the sound tech) had decided to step out of the booth so I physically dove to turn on their recording device so they wouldn't miss anything. Luckily, the first bits of talking weren't important and the main conversation got recorded. Everyone left in good spirits and Andrew was great. - L
