NPP Projection Report 6/29 Admin

To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Kat is uploading the Bad Guys preshow for the Minions 2 playlist.

A few preshow clips were missing for next week’s playlists, so I updated them according to the trailer list. Features were starting about a minute early into the playlists before I updated them, so after the changes a few (Black Phone, Everything Everywhere, and Minions 2) ended up running a minute longer overall. I updated the schedule for Friday-Monday.

I also switched the Lightyear playlists for tomorrow as this week’s has the Minions trailer in it.

Built a playlist for the I Know What You Did Last Summer preshow.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Set up mics in Theater 3 for tonight’s intro/Q&A. Ran through the playlist as well to make sure the transition to the HDMI input for the Zoom intro was smooth. Since we’ve never done an intro like this before, here are all the details in writing:
The HDMI connection is set up under the curtain in the theater with the adapter for the projection laptop connected. If Cristina wants to use her own laptop for the Zoom intro the adapter won’t be necessary. There will be a short live intro before the Zoom intro, so be in the theater for the end of the live intro, the Zoom will be set up and connected on the laptop at the front of the stage. When the live intro is done press play on the playlist (use Splashtop on your phone or borrow a laptop from MOD if the projection laptop will be used for the Zoom intro), the dowser will close at the end of the slide so stay in the theater as the projector switches to HDMI, then open the dowser from inside the theater 5 or so seconds into the HDMI CPL (Mediablock HDMI). The Zoom can then be monitored from the booth with the rack monitor switched to the HDMI input, or you can stay in the theater for it. The HDMI CPL runs 15 minutes which should be more than enough for the intro, if for whatever reason it’s not, you can pause/rewind the clip without disrupting the projection. When the Zoom intro is done close the dowser on the projector so there’s no static on the screen when the laptop is closed/the projector switches back to DCP, then pause the playlist, skip to the next clip, and press play. Lights down, lens file/masking switch (feature is 1.37), and dowser open are all automated in the playlist so you won’t have to do anything manually after that. Live Q&A will run normally after the feature with the NPP logo slide on screen.

Got the S-video cable for the Digibeta player, but after I got the player set up and the image appearing correctly on screen  Cristina and I noticed the Punk digibeta tape has the same frame rate issue as the file/DCP. Since the DCP will be easier for the screening, we’re just going to go with that.
