Projection Close 11/09



To do this evening/ was completed: Relatively quiet night for projection. For tomorrow, keep an eye on a few manual starts!

Saw that I wasn't scheduled for this Monday (?) so I put myself back on. 

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Playlist for Commandant's Shadow is built with their slide, but I'll take a look at all this on Monday to make sure it's all sound. They're doing a slide and Spotify playlist for preshow...on the event memo, but I just noticed the trailer list says Generic v10 preshow. I'll confirm with Chenelle, but I'm fairly certain it's music and a slide. 

Did my Saturday usual and went over the new playlists, content, and schedule, to make sure we're on track. 

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Replying here to Alec's blog from this morning by confirming that, yes, the mixer was off when I found it. Not sure if someone just accidentally turned it off by accident before the intro. I did check it for sound and it was fine. Mystery! I cleaned everything up. 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Checked to make sure all KDMs are active and will be for the next week, at the very least.

Maintenance/cleaning: The other day, I saw that you can enroll in Christie "University" for free, much to mine and Alec's surprise. I always thought you had to pay for most of this since getting your CTS can be rather costly. This is a great resource with online courses that get you to get more familiar with servicing, installing, operating Christie machinery (our projectors) and polishing troubleshooting skills whilst just becoming more knowledgable about the products we use and their overall functionality. It's really helpful for working with more complex parts and management, which is something I've wanted to do for awhile now for a boost. Tonight I started a few of the courses I saved the other day. You can tailor them to your needs.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Finished the missing show bits for this upcoming Thursday. 
Built the formula for A Real Pain (which I'll double check once the keys are open, of course). 

Sheet for tomorrow looks good.

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report 4/6 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Theater 3 issue happened again, Carly radioed me that the second round preshow didn't start. I was able to restart the projector and put the preshow on about 12 minutes before lights down. Trailers/feature played fine after that. I wrote again to DMS and Jerry said he'll have a list of parts to replace on Monday. For the sake of clarity, here is everything I've gathered about this issue: -When it happens, you won't be able to control playback via the TMS, manually fire automation cues, or access the IMS web GUI at all -Schedules for Theater 3 will display as "KDM missing" and the storage health icon on the Overview page will say "Storage degraded," even though the storage is healthy and KDMs have been uploaded and are active. -This issue prevents the server from validating KDMs (even though they are there and valid), so encrypted content will not play with the server in this state.
