NPP Projection Close 1/27 + 1/28 Admin



To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled the coming week in LMS. New first run features ingested and playlisted.

Presentation Issues: Lifeforce 35mm went smoothly aside from one presentation hiccup. I noticed during the preshow that the P1 scope lens was positioned in the mount a bit further out than usual with the black line kind of far from the mount "line". So I repositioned it anticipating a little bit of a focus adjustment when it came time to change over to reel two. When I did change over, the lens was very out of focus, and the first moment of the reel featured a title card which was not legible. Print has been re-inspected, will get shipped out soon.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Started building the A Very Curious Girl playlist. 

I tried loading in the Feb2025 Misfit Alley clip, but it kept saying that it was missing elements, even though all the elements were in there. - MC

Print/video Inspection: Inspected the first 4 reels of Malcolm X, which is in terrific shape. They are back on shipping reels for now. - MC

Tech'd A Very Curious Girl with Cristina in Theater 3. Made the necessary cues. - MC

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?:

Maintenance/cleaning: Sent another detailed report from the T2 server to DMS, with the dates/times the server loaded the scheduled playlist but did not start it, so they can look into the issue -AL

Put one of the new USB-over-ethernet extenders in T6 for the CaptiView transmitter. Works well. Tried the same in T2 no matter where I put it behind the screen I was still getting dropped lines of dialogue on the CaptiView receiver, so I put it back how it was, with the transmitter poking out the side of one of the port windows. -AL

I changed the masking preset which was set to 1.37 in Theaters 2, 4, and 6 to 1.33 for Nickel Boys. We have one show of this title in T1 but I'm waiting until after Wages of Fear and NoBudge to adjust the masking for it

-In 6 and 4, when the curtain comes in this far the two "flaps" separate and you can see the white screen behind them, so I discreetly fastened them together. -AL

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Yes, most of next week is filled except for Dog Man, which we still need timing for and the formula made so it can be plugged in easily. - MC

I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Report Friday 1/31 CLOSE Chris

Presentation Issues: -I believe Karen thoroughly covered this in an email but there were serious issues with the CP500 for the 6:20 Lil Women; no sound for the first three minutes and it dropped out again the very moment the 500 was taken off manual. The last foil cues continue to fail to fire. The platter worked fine, tho it is not a graceful competence, double-wrapping the film around the brain in the first fourth of the movie before the motor kicks in. -The Rhythm Section SPL had it's LTS DOWN cue set to fire at the beginning of the 10 count preshow portion, rather than the end when the trailers hit. Fixed that.
