Projection Admin 3/13

To do this evening/ was completed: Vlad is coming tomorrow morning to fix the table lights.

*Received the file for Wire and Cloth (the problem short from NoBudge). DCP'd and ingested this today. It looks/sounds good. We'll have our NoBudge tech tomorrow morning, a Gremlins 2 tech beforehand and Uptown Girls/Full Metal Jacket after.
*Tech'd Novocaine, Black Bag and Opus - PLEASE READ: FYI - I was confused whilst teching this today as I thought it might be 2:1 in Scope since it's letterboxed, but I can confirm it is 1.85 lens/masking and intentionally letterboxed until the last five minutes of the feature when it open to the full height of the frame. Can't get any more A24 or any more annoying than that. We confirmed this with an ingest letter from the distro. I have also alerted house managers in case patrons are curious.
*T3 server went offline this morning, but power-cycing did the trick. We alerted DMS once again. You should be fine this evening. - Lillian

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Adjusted the playlist for Iron Giant to fit the preshow/trailers SE requirements with Kat's suggestions and updated the cue sheets.
Built a tech playlist for NoBudge - Lil

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Transferred the slide and birthday video to T7, setup the mix and mixer from T3 and went through the playlist twice for Monty Python to double check the cues. This should be an incredibly easy event. Everything looks and sounds good. I put a mic stand off to the side, so when the time comes just pop it in there and PLEASE do not forget to turn up the master volume on the mixer. Thank you! - Lillian

Please Read: One note on Handbrake with films that need subtitling - I had to run the MKV file for REC through Handbrake again as the subtitles were not present in the finished file. You typically do not need to (or shouldn't) choose the "forced only" option, just chose "burned in," otherwise the subtitles will not show up. Even if you choose "forced only" with "burned in" the main subtitling track will not show up. Usually subs are burned in, and forced only is for more specific types of dialogue (like weird creature language that's not integral to the plot in, says, a fantasy film, or something like that), but another example would be a non english dialogue in a native english film = forced subs. For most foreign films with English subs, just burn em in. Also! You can double check your work with the preview option (top right corner on Handbrake) before running. Ignore those white boxes in the screenshot below, just wanted to show you where and what I'm talking about (using a random example). The new file is almost finished and will be saved to the same place as the previous but with "englishsubs" in the name. Please DCP this once it's done. Thanks! - Lillian

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Downloaded and ingested the Mobsters preshow content for Alto Knights and built the playlist. Lil

Outgoing/Shipping (content): Pariah will get picked up tomorrow by DHL. Printed out the reference (printed out two copies in case). Note: I fixed that bad plastic shipping reel (the core's teeth were a little bit off, but it fits alright) and added a zip tie to the interior so it's extra secure when in transit. - Lillian

Print/video Inspection:

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?:

Maintenance/cleaning: Spent today organizing the cables under the curtain in Theater 3 and Theater 1. 1 is still a work in progress. There will be a few small differences I'll alert everyone of after I finish T1 and do the same in T2 tomorrow, but mostly everything should be where you'll expect to find it, just trying to keep things neat and cables away from the floor.
*I will mention that in Theater 3, the power strip we plug the masking motor, HDMI/ethernet extender, and mic mixer is now cable tied to the screen frame, in case you're wondering where it went. -A

Got some supplies on the way, if you see a package addressed to me please bring it up to 4/6 as always. -A

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Yes.

Marquee updated?: This completely escaped us today, but we need to update the marquee and the poster banners for our new A1s will get updated tomorrow.

Posters updated?:

Cleaning lights on for the night?:

Projection cart by entrance?:
