NPP Projection Open 5/31

To do this evening/ was completed: Somewhat busy morning. Handful of technical blips. First: T7 IMB was down when I got in. I tried to initiate a marriage through the Christie Service setup but could not click "next" to advance past the first prompt. So I decided to power-cycle the projector and that resolved the issue. Put Friendship on screen to test the server and it played fine. I did notice a relatively decent amount of empty space at the bottom of the image--the lens file just hadn't been expanded enough, so I adjusted it. All good. Plenty of time before the first round started.

Then I got walkie'd by MOD informing T2 preshow had started but the lights had not gone down--they remained on the CLEANING setting, so I just brought them down manually. Tested the all of the settings, they are fine and responsive. But I haven't experienced that specific T2 glitch before.

Then MOD forwarded an email from a patron saying that there was a loud, persistent rumbling/rattling coming from one of our speakers/subwoofers during MI8 yesterday. Apparently we received two separate complaints. So I put MI8 on-screen before the print and clicked around to listen to some action and yes, the JBL beneath the screen does rattle/buzz/rumble prominently during certain loud action sequences. I got some time stamps for further investigation: around/slightly after 1:421:30, and around 1:43:08. Was able to show MODs these moments, which is to say the issue is consistent.

And then, once the preshow for Batman Begins had begun I was informed that the image on-screen was being projected onto the curtains, even though the 1.85 lens file was selected. Looked at the Christie touch panel to see a "ballast power control locked..." alarm message, which I acknowledged, then simply re-selected 1.85 on the panel, which resolved the issue. Tested some content after the screening and everything worked fine.

I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection 6/17 Close
