NPP Projection Admin 6/27 Lillian/ Jack

To do this evening/ was complete: Chris from DMS came in this morning and we had an extremely productive day with the LMS/ftp, though more will need to be done with the fire alarm. We actually discussed the possibility of an after hours session, which might make things easier as we'll need more time and it might be more difficult during the day. He's simplifying our fire alarm setup for the projection booths, which involves removing quite a bit of unnecessary cabling/circuitry. Everything seems to have been over-engineered, which makes sense. Anyway, he tested everything in T6, but that's the only theatre he's done so far. He channeled everything into the unused GP ports so the usual will still be executed when the fire alarm gets triggered: house lights up, dowser close, cp750 mute, server pause, BUT now we also have a Fire Alarm Reset playlist that puts the lights down, opens the dowser, unmutes the processor and presses play. We are, essentially, cancelling out the need to physically be in each booth to reset the alarm and press the "all on" button on the lighting panel when it shifts to override once the fire alarm goes off. We talked a lot about the setups in each booth (all of which tend to vary slightly) and what are needs are, but 3/7/5 are the most different and since 3/7 are both on the same relay, that's another thing that might take a minute to recalibrate, but it shouldn't be hard at all. I'll be in touch with Chris to see when he's available to come in next, which may or may not be tomorrow after hours (likely a no-go) but perhaps Monday/Tuesday. He's definitely available right now, which is great.

For the LMS - he setup the ftp for us and Kat. We are using Tailscale, a middleman VPN service that creates private networks (gives us our own unique IP address) which connects to the LMS, giving Kat direct access for uploading content. I sent Kat the invite link and she got it up and rolling today! We also adjusted the smb (desktop feature for share folder) by tinkering with the "Scan Watchfolder" time in the Device Sync Frequency page. I had mentioned our difficulty with downloading to the share folder directly, which I guessed could be due to the automatic ingest feature (among a few other things).

This stuff is very cool (and kind of like magic to me) because it's basically using an ethernet port on the LMS but without the cabling.

Chris also added the the POS info in the Schedule section, which is a whole other feature we'll have to discuss along with the other stuff. We went over more convenient automation features (playlist/schedule building) that sync up with the POS system, and it is too much and too visual to map out in a blog so I will leave it at that for now. Do not experiment with anything yet, we will find time to go over these additions with each of you (which I'll discuss with Alec tomorrow). Alec, I'll come in a little early tomorrow so we can talk a little more in depth about all of this. It was a big info day. Chris was super helpful, really appreciate him.

One more thing - We got the new trailer list from Kat, but the forecasts are not yet ready. Keep an eye out for them. Thanks!

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Looked at Carnival of Souls and Smokey, volume and lights cues added. Brought the volume of F1 down to 4.5 and M3GAN to 5.0. Plenty loud at those volumes to my ear. -JC

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Working to make sure we get content for Hank's Saloon at an appropriate time so I touched base with the filmmaker today. We're looking at a drop off for 3rd of July and a Monday tech ~. I'll keep y'all in the loop. - LH
