NPP Projection Report 6/17 Admin


To do this evening/ was completed: I ordered two replacement woofers for Theater 1 today. These should be here on Thursday, I will install them on Friday. We have two more on order with JBL, but they don't expect stock until August. We will keep this order in place so we have extras.

I didn't get around to looking at either Compensation or I'm Your Venus before doors today, but I transferred these features to their theater servers to look at tomorrow.

Special Events/ AV set up: Ran loops for Matrix Revolutions tonight. Focus looking good.

Checked the playlist for the PS107 private event in T2 early this evening. All set.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested F1 and Smokey and the Bandit to the LMS.

Downloaded, converted, and ingested the track for Nyx Nocturne's Bound performance.

Print/video Inspection: Teched Stay Hungry in T4 with Cristina. Print looks great, and the volume's been noted.

I looked at the "Sydney & Kim" short in T2. This is all set and I've updated the playlist. It looks the slightest bit narrower than 1.66 but the 1.66 masking and projector channel will do.

I put Three on a Match back on the shipping reels, tails out, to make room for Stay Hungry up in 4/6.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?:

Maintenance/cleaning: I ran a loop on P1 in T1 with the 1.85 lens still in from last night and was able to get even focus. It's possible there was a little warp on the Big Top print which may have caused the focus to be uneven. If there's a warp that's causing really pronounced softness on the sides, increasing the gate tension slightly can sometimes help. Adjust the knob very slowly, check/adjust focus, and repeat until there's an improvement.

I adjusted the locking position for the 1.37 lens on P1. It's very tightly in place and shouldn't shift again. Our next 1.37 print in this theater is Nickel Boys (which according to FilmTech is a true full-frame 1.37 print and not windowboxed for a 1.85 lens and plate). I'll make sure to double check it before that show.

I also tightened the turret on P2, it was moving a bit too freely. It can still be rotated, it's just more secure now.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Filled in the 28 Years Later shows for Thursday.

Next weeks cue sheets are mostly built. Missing some SE timing pending content being teched. Nothing in for Megan 2 yet. Formula built for F(ormula)1

Scheduled just about everything except F1 and M2 (no playlists yet). Actually nothing is scheduled for Thursday 6/26 so we can schedule 6/27 playlists to avoid showing F1 and Megan trailers. Just the Stay Hungry playlist is scheduled.

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection 6/17 Close
