To do this evening/ was completed: In response to Will's blog last night, it looks like the playlists I made for Superman 7/04 (for 7/10 release date) were deleted and the 7/11 ones were copied over from F1, given everything that was in those incorrect Superman playlists from last night. there were updates earlier in the day, so please be be very careful if you are copying over to kill some time with not having to redo the trailers and such (if that was the intention). This is also why we double check the playlists. I still believe the template system might be too much for us here, but for right now, please be sure to double check your work. I am a tad concerned that Tuesday admin work has become slightly passive. 

Also as per Will's blog, I checked out the faulty reel (reel one) of Nickel Boys which seemed to have multiple key pieces rolling around the core. I contacted Brad from Film Tech (in charge of this) and offered to tease them out but wanted to double check that this was, in fact, the last print for 2k reels available on the off chance they had another. They did not have another. He suggested trying to get it on the bench with a different spindle (along with a separate emergency plan for shipping) but the reel started to split the second I lifted it up. I was able to give it a pretty clean break, got a core in it for the split reel and then safely wound it onto a house reel without damaging it. They're alright for us to toss the reel, which lost most of its adhesive and got mucked up in the shipping process. All other shipping reels are okay. I have inspected the first two reels. If you're curious about this visually, I have the photos of the whole thing in the Photos app on 4/6 desktop. Everything went rather smoothly considering. 


We've got some power issues in T1/2 server stations, which Juan was working on today. I noticed the new emergency lights in T1 were on (only three of them, though - Vlad is aware). Turns out, the breaker was wonky and a quick switch on/off worked. Matthew was here today and is aware of all of this, too. FYI- I ran through playlists/lights sequences to make sure the cleaning lights were all good for today.

Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Admin (Lillian/Will) 7/7

To do this evening/ was completed: Leon Chase for Hank's Saloon came by to tech his film today. He's super happy with the outcome of his DCP and is really, really excited about the screening.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Buena Vista Social Club is just about sorted for this evening -the hosts did not respond to our request for a good quality video of the Tony Awards performance that we could download, so I found it on YouTube and let them know. I made a DCP, which will likely sound good between 3.5 - 4.5, but we'll have 15min to tech it before we open doors for the show!  Superman playlists built - I swapped out the atmos file that was first ingested and got the regular 7.1 in there!
