NPP Projection Report 9/20 Open


To do this evening/ was completed: Downloading the 5min AllAges v7 preshow clip from Google Drive, we need it for the Gabby's Dollhouse playlist.

Built the 9/26 R trailer pack.

The rest of the A1 playlists and some SEs for next week can be built tonight.

Presentation Issues: Unexpected light off this morning at the start of the first round in 7. Classic ballast issue where the light shuts off a minute after being struck. Had to power down the projector and unplug. Luckily, there were no tickets sold for this first round. Had preshow back up at showtime. No issue after that.

Preshow Clips/Playlist: There was no lights down cue in the MacGruber playlist. Rebecca radioed me a few minutes into the feature that house lights were still on. Brought them down manually and added the cue to the playlist for tomorrow. I built this one so my bad!

Built Lord of the Rings and DEBS playlists.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants had a very nice show in T4. Heads up for Jack tomorrow: there is a hard cut to black toward the end of reel 5, shortly before the motor start cue. Don't be alarmed--it's part of the movie, you didn't miss the changeover. It almost threw me. The print is rewound onto house reels and the projectors have been cleaned.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested Summer's Camera to the LMS. The actual name of the DCP as recognized by Screenwriter (as opposed to the name of the folder we downloaded) indicates that it's 2D. Screenwriter also isn't recognizing it as 3D which it usually does for 3D content. So, false alarm on this one possibly being 3D.

Ingested the Meal Pal short.

Both the Ninxs and Videoheaven ingests failed last night. Not sure why Ninxs failed, I copied it to the Share folder and it ingested fine from there. It looked like Videoheaven did not finish downloading. I redownloaded the video file and ingested the DCP.

I'm making a DCP of Kpop Demon Hunters for a private birthday party Chenelle is in the process of booking. It's converting on the 4/6 iMac to the Share folder. Not sure when this will screen or in which theater as it's not on the calendar yet, but it will be happening in the near future.

Some more download links were added to the NewFest spreadsheet, for the shorts "Yú Ci (Fish Bones)" and "Will You Look At Me" and the feature She's the He. These are downloading; the shorts from Google Drive via Cyberduck and the feature on the Frame.io app. All are going onto the Preshow & Trailers drive.

I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. NPP Projection Admin (Lillian/Will) 7/7

To do this evening/ was completed: Leon Chase for Hank's Saloon came by to tech his film today. He's super happy with the outcome of his DCP and is really, really excited about the screening.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Buena Vista Social Club is just about sorted for this evening -the hosts did not respond to our request for a good quality video of the Tony Awards performance that we could download, so I found it on YouTube and let them know. I made a DCP, which will likely sound good between 3.5 - 4.5, but we'll have 15min to tech it before we open doors for the show!  Superman playlists built - I swapped out the atmos file that was first ingested and got the regular 7.1 in there! Projection Admin 9/8 Lillian/Will

To do this evening/ was completed: Double confirmed with Chris and folks that the print of Vicious Lips is, in fact, Vampire Lovers. They are in the process of sending Cyborg. I took the Vicious Lips trailer out of the playlists that had them, which we'll replace with Cyborg once it's available.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built the playlist for Higher Learning .  Trailer Updates: ^ as per the above, we'll be getting the Cyborg trailer and updated version of the Forecast_A for 9/12 sometime tonight.  Special Events/ AV set up: We got the PA system with wireless mics setup for the show tonight in T2. I went through all the pieces of content for the drag performance(s) and confirmed sound/adjusted a few levels for the music, some of which were way too loud. I double checked/techd the lighting cues and wrote the info into the event memo for easy access (not everything seems to be accurate on the sheet, which I will update on Wednesday).
