Projection Admin 9/15



To do this evening/ was completed: Lots of ingesting/organizing today. 

We had quite the back and forth today with attempting to reach Paramount and secure a DCP for The Godfather P3. They are expediting a CRU drive, which will arrive here at 10:30am tomorrow morning. They don't have it via satellite. Please keep an eye out for it so we can confirm with them that it has been delivered. The bad print came with return labels, so we'll schedule a pickup for it. Ticket holders have been notified. 

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Please check/continue to make special events playlists tonight. 

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Added the spots/wash setting to the event memo for the stand up feature this evening in T2. They will need two chairs/two mics. Playlist has been tested as well as the lights setting. 

Went through Mimic to double check the playlist. All set for tonight. 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): We received the keys for The Godfather Part 3 (this will be the directors cut CODA). 

Received and ingested the DCPs of Spinal Tap 2 and Desire: The Carl Craig Story

Received the DCP link for French Italian, which is currently unzipping via the unarchiver and should be done tonight, hopefully, but keep an eye on it. It's on the slow side. 

Received, DCP'd and ingested the slide for Cyborg.

I have been moving downloaded NewFest DCPs to the share drive and ingesting them. Please see asset notes below! 

Caught up with Tess from the Gotham Shorts and mentioned that we still need Asia A and Americanized (the latter of which would not show up on the server and does not seem to be a proper DCP, I also tried downloading it via Cyberduck) so she'll reach out to both folks to have them upload/reupload. We received the short Tita, which I ingested. I did, however, reach out to Tess to mention that the DCP link says "Span+Engl subs" whereas our server is reading it as English with Spanish subs, so I'll confirm with her what the actual audio/captions are once I get the chance to throw it on screen.

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Happy to announce that we have tracking for the print of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which we will be screening on 35mm! Woohoo! Thank you, John and Desmond, for sorting this out with me. 

I added two more columns to the NewFest master spreadsheet with DCP Downloaded and DCP Ingested so that Chrissy and Rachel are aware of what we've got sorted (and so are we!) I redownloaded Meal Plan (did not ingest properly) which is currently unzipping on George Ivan. Keep an eye on it, please. 

Maintenance/cleaning: New batteries and chair wheels came in. Took a lot of elbow grease to get the old  silver pin out of the slot where the wheel popped out, but I managed. Put the new wheel in. As good as new. 

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Yes. Info for Theatre 2 tonight all set.

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. SE screenings went smoothly. Projection Admin (and Close) 10/19

To do this evening/ was completed: Real quick - It was a great day! For tonight, I've let MOD know that, since I'm more comfortable staying until most of the last round starts (due to some funky server issues we've been having), I'm going to go see a movie in T2 and can silently text with them if they need anything or should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).  Extremely thrilled to say that all three NewFest shows went very well this morning/afternoon. It was definitely a bit of a magic trick with some overlapping intros/Q&As but having my personal ROS helped so much. Thank you to Desmond, NewFest rockstar.  Desmond and I double checked all shows before doors. Gaffed the wired mics and tested everything. Since one guest for the q&a in T2 wasn't comfortable with the chairs, we swapped our directors chairs for the ones in the bar, which still worked super well with the slides and spots.  Had to ride the mic in trees a bit since everyone's got a differen...

NPP Projection Admin (Lillian/Will) 7/7

To do this evening/ was completed: Leon Chase for Hank's Saloon came by to tech his film today. He's super happy with the outcome of his DCP and is really, really excited about the screening.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Buena Vista Social Club is just about sorted for this evening -the hosts did not respond to our request for a good quality video of the Tony Awards performance that we could download, so I found it on YouTube and let them know. I made a DCP, which will likely sound good between 3.5 - 4.5, but we'll have 15min to tech it before we open doors for the show!  Superman playlists built - I swapped out the atmos file that was first ingested and got the regular 7.1 in there!
