This morning, after Will ran a trailer, I did a few runs with different reels from the same print (Flying Guillotine) and the problem reel. When I first tried the problem reel (Reel 2) on Projector 1 (potentially the problem projector), I did not get a sound until a few minutes in, then it held. Once the reel ran out, I cleaned in and around the sound equipment. I put Reel 2 on Projector 2 and Reel 1 on Projector 1. Reel 1 on Projector 1 immediately gave me sound, and Reel 2 on Projector 2 also gave me sound. I opened up the processor whilst running these and noticed that, when switched over to Reel 2 on P2, the 661 cat card (optical preamp) read green (and it was green when I switched back to P1, the only difference is the led specific to each projector, which is orange for P2 and red for P1, everything else is and should be green). So, from what I could see, there are no alignment issues or warnings that the sound might be clipping and we need to adjust levels, though that'd be good to check in with. I did one final run with putting Reel 2 back on P1 and it immediately gave me sound. I let the reel run out, listening and watching the whole time. I am, at the moment, going to chalk this up to a weak signal from a damaged print (which we knew about)/debris in the sound head/lasers area. Obviously we'll keep an eye on this though. I let Desmond know that we wouldn't have any issues for Pan's Labyrinth anyhow since it's SRD. - LH
