NPP Projection Close 3/26

To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues: At the start of the feature during the second round in theater 1 (Project Hail Mary at 5:45PM) the masking began covering the screen instead of opening to its 2:1 setting. MODs called and I manually triggered the 2:1 cue, fortunately only a minute or so had passed, and the curtains moved to the correct position. I double checked the playlists and there were no missing or incorrect cues. It looked like the curtains had moved in over the image too, not even staying at 1.85 like during the pre show, but had changed to a narrower setting. This film plays in theater 2 next so I will keep an eye on it then to see if its masking is affected as well and update accordingly (update: no issue with the masking in theater 2)

Special Events/ AV set up: Ran loops in 1 for the Swordfish screening this evening + brought a chair and mic stand down and checked the spots in 7 for the private event

Swordfish info and screening went smoothly save for a momentary blip between reels 2 and 3 (I missed the motor cue) but the rest of the changeovers were perfect. Mics were brought back up to the booth to charge following the show

Truly had no idea what was going on in theater 7 tonight. Only the filmmaker and his partner/friend(??) showed up to watch the feature. The pre-show was cut short by 30 minutes and the intro and Q&A were skipped for obvious reasons. Raekwon kept me updated with the goings on while I was up in booth 1. The filmmaker asked to watch the last ten minutes of the film again and I obliged them. I thought there might have been a proposal in the works. Instead this was a very expensive friend zone experience. They were out by 11:40PM and I put the mic, stand, and chair back in their appropriate storage spaces after the show

To do this evening/ was completed: Leon Chase for Hank's Saloon came by to tech his film today. He's super happy with the outcome of his DCP and is really, really excited about the screening.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Buena Vista Social Club is just about sorted for this evening -the hosts did not respond to our request for a good quality video of the Tony Awards performance that we could download, so I found it on YouTube and let them know. I made a DCP, which will likely sound good between 3.5 - 4.5, but we'll have 15min to tech it before we open doors for the show!  Superman playlists built - I swapped out the atmos file that was first ingested and got the regular 7.1 in there! Projection Admin 9/8 Lillian/Will

To do this evening/ was completed: Double confirmed with Chris and folks that the print of Vicious Lips is, in fact, Vampire Lovers. They are in the process of sending Cyborg. I took the Vicious Lips trailer out of the playlists that had them, which we'll replace with Cyborg once it's available.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built the playlist for Higher Learning .  Trailer Updates: ^ as per the above, we'll be getting the Cyborg trailer and updated version of the Forecast_A for 9/12 sometime tonight.  Special Events/ AV set up: We got the PA system with wireless mics setup for the show tonight in T2. I went through all the pieces of content for the drag performance(s) and confirmed sound/adjusted a few levels for the music, some of which were way too loud. I double checked/techd the lighting cues and wrote the info into the event memo for easy access (not everything seems to be accurate on the sheet, which I will update on Wednesday).
