Projection Admin 8/11

Already have some requests off for September, remember the deadline for requests is Tuesday. Working on the October schedule, too, so the earlier you can get those requests in, the better. Thanks :)


Working on a bit of an overhaul of our HDMI/DVI setups as I plan to setup webcams in Theaters 1, 2, and 3 (and maybe 4) for Zoom Q&A and as a permanent live Q&A recording setup. Will have HDMI-over-ethernet extenders (we refer to them as AJAs but that brand’s version is discontinued) permanently set for 1, 2, & 3 (for Spoons, Kevin Geeks Out, Shouting at the Screen, various stage presentations, and staff meetings), and for cable TV to the Trees projector. Will also use one of the DVI ports on the projectors in each 3 houses to setup the webcam (which can also double as the streaming connection, and could also be repurposed for blu-ray). Ordered all of what we need for Theater 1, and most everything for the other theaters. There will still need to be some variability to different setups but my goal is to eliminate as much cable switching, channel setting adjusting, etc. as possible.


Roger is coming on Tuesday to look at the motor start wiring to the CP500 in Theater 1.

To do this evening/ was completed: We did get the keys for Cliffhanger this morning, but they won't open up until Sunday, so it's looking like we can tech this Monday morning. I notified MOD on the cue sheet. 

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Kat sent over new content today. 
I deleted all A1 8/4 playlists. Deleted the 5.1's of Blue Beetle, keeping the 7.1's. Deleted past SE playlists. 

Built ALL first run playlists, TMNT_T6 included, but once we get the film schedule tonight, we can sort out the rest of T6 depending on what we're showing in there. 

We're replacing the Policy/How To Order preshow clips (but ONLY in PG13/R playlists!) with these new ones:

Built the playlist for Material Issue

Trailer Updates: Updated the PG13/R trailer packs with new Policy/BCB. Updated PG trailer pack with  BCB. 

Special Events/ AV set up: Fearless will be in T4 instead of T1. I updated the whiteboard in 4/6. 

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers):

Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested New Policy/How To, Blue Beetle 5min PS, Haunting in Venice Trailer, Forecasts 8/18. 

Received three new prints this morning: Hard Target, Back to the Future, Speed Racer. Brought all of these up to T1 booth. 

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: Print inspection can get done this evening for at least one/two of the prints we received. 

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes! Updated. Added a bunch of titles. 

Maintenance/cleaning:

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): Adjusted Do the Right Thing, Material Issue (Out of Time) on the cue sheets.

NPP Projection Report 11/23 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Checked the Home Alone DCP ahead of the private event this morning, no issues. The party was a bit late seating, so the movie start was a little bit delayed. Overall it ran smoothly. Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Kat will be making a DCP of Guardians of the Galaxy tomorrow for the private event in T1 on Tuesday morning. Chenelle will get the blu-ray sent over here for us to have as backup. I set up the blu-ray player so it's connected to both the monitor and the projector, in case we end up needing to use the blu-ray. I sent Lillian and McKegg an email about this separately. Projection Admin 9/2

To do this evening/ was completed: Our Network has been updated. Nick from DMS came in to drop off the relay mechanism and take a look at 3/7 before his install visit next week. I showed him in and around the space and he checked in with the WiFi guys. He also liased with Chris whilst scoping out the existing relay system in in 3/7.  It is still somewhat of a wreck in the 46 booth (cables and boxes that, to my knowledge, need to be thrown out, but I asked if they were going to clean up/what needs to be cleared out and I didn't get a proper response in both English and when I asked in Spanish lol so apparently someone might be coming round to finish that up tomorrow. If we don't, we can call Juan and double check. I did tidy things up though, so at least it's not absolute chaos in here.  Once the Network was up and properly running, I tested out theatres 4 and 6 to see if anything needed to be rebooted and lo n behold, only the dimmer panels needed to be rebooted in all the...
