NPP Projection Report 5/10 Open

To do this evening/ was completed: Regarding hard drive troubles:
I spent the better part of the day today working on this, so I'll try to break it all down as clearly as possible.
-For starters, we can write to the NTFS drives again.
-Most of our external hard drives have always been NTFS formatted. This is the only hard drive format which is read by both the LMS and IMSes. LMS will read exFAT drives as well but that's it.
-NTFS is natively Windows-only, but we use a third-party app, called NTFS for Mac, to allow us to read and write to NTFS hard drives on Mac computers (both the 4/6 and T1 iMacs have this installed).
-The iOS update must have reset permissions for third-party apps, as NTFS for Mac had some necessary permissions disabled which I believe kept causing the app to crash every time I tried to open it.
-I saw the app's icon on the top bar of the screen (which indicates it's running in the background), but every time I tried to actually open the application it crashed and I got an error message.
-This was the reason we were only able to read the NTFS formatted drives after the update, not the drive's format itself.
-I reinstalled NTFS for Mac and granted all the necessary permissions. We can use the NTFS formatted drives as we had been.
-Permissions were re-granted for Plex and VLC as well.

Less critical notes:
-Before I realized the permissions issue, I thought I was going to have to erase and reformat the NTFS drives to be able to write to them again. I got as far as copying all preshow which was not on the LMS or theater servers from the Preshow & Trailer drive, either to George Ivan (until I ran out of space) or the Desktop, and erased/reformatted Preshow & Trailers. My bad. Everything that had been copied from it, either to George or the Desktop, is being copied back over now.
-I still think we are best off with NTFS formatted drives but I haven't changed George's format, it's still exFAT. We cannot ingest to anything from an APFS formatted hard drive, so it's best to not format any of our hard drives this way.
-Nicolas Winding Refn is toast in all likelihood. I was having some minor trouble with this drive before (it worked fine on the computers, but only IMS3s would read it) but nothing which indicated a serious fault. No computer will read it now and Windows says it has a "fatal hardware error" when I try opening it on one of the PCs. My hunch is that it was restarting the iMac while files were being copied to the drive which killed it.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist:

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Home movie for the 5/14 private event converted to DCP and ingested to the LMS.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): We have Friendship posters but they were in 4/6 for some reason (?) I brought them down to 3/7.

Ordering/Receiving (content): I had to restart the Mufasa DCP from scratch. The DVD rip was deleted from George it seems and I do not know where that unfinished DCP-o-matic project was saved to, though without the source file it wouldn't have done me much good, anyway. We shouldn't hold our breath on getting a blu-ray, the event is on Tuesday. I've started converting the DVD rip to DCP. Not gonna look great but it's better than nothing. Should finish tomorrow morning.

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection:

Asset tracking doc updated/checked?:

Maintenance/cleaning: I started a "Marquee Letter Discard Pile" in 3/7. Please add to it but do not throw them away so I know which ones need to be replaced. Once we have a nice-sized pile I'll place an order. Any letters with ink visibly scratched off (enough that it's noticeable up on the marquee), which have pieces chipped off that affect the ink or the letter's ability to stand up straight, or which have large cracks should be added to the pile. A lot of these letters are getting old and the inventory could use another refresh.

Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift):

Marquee updated?: Reset the brunch and 35mm sides of the marquee. Left Eraserhead off the 35mm side since it's already well sold, Abominable Dr. Phibes is up instead.

Posters updated?:

Cleaning lights on for the night?:

Projection cart by entrance?:
