NPP Projection Report 8/21 Admin


To do this evening/ was completed: If Ne Zha II could go up on the marquee tonight, and Nobody 2 and Bad Guys 2 letters taken down, that would be swell! Nobody 2 poster can also come down, but might as well leave Bad Guys 2 up for tonight and I'll replace it with Ne Zha II when those come tomorrow.

Presentation Issues:

Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built/scheduled Caught Stealing for next Thursday.

Trailer Updates:

Special Events/ AV set up: Spoons is all set for this evening. Everything is on the rollout table under the tablecloth; Yamaha mixer and spotlight board are switched off and the mics are on stands, also switched off. Everything is tested and ready to go.
-They left one of their extension cords here the Saturday before last. It's in a yellow envelope on the table in T1 with everything else.

Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): I reached out to A24 for Ne Zha II posters, they sent them overnight so we should get them tomorrow.

Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested The African Queen and Tremors to the LMS.

Outgoing/Shipping (content):

Print/video Inspection: Looked at Ne Zha and Honey Don't. Both are good to go. I set Honey Don't at 5.8, left Ne Zha at 5.5. FYI-- Honey Don't begins in scope, but by the 5 minute mark opens up to 1.85 and looks to stay that way for the remainder of the movie.

-Another tech note for Honey Don't, and I'm sure this will make me sound crazy at first; the movie has a bit of a flicker to it. I noticed this when teching in T2, and given the history in that room I assumed it was the lamp. I paused the movie and put up the all-white test pattern and the flicker did not continue. I also paused the movie a few more times after turning the test pattern off, just to make sure I wasn't seeing things, and there was no flickering with the movie paused. Also, I poked my head in T3 during the staff screening and noticed the same thing, so it's definitely the movie. It is very mild, just worth mentioning so we know it's not a technical issue.

Teched It's Alive III with Cristina. Print looks and sounds great! Volume is noted.

To do this evening/ was completed: Scheduled 1/3 - 1/9 in LMS. A few manual starts in there. I scheduled those shows just a minute or two after their real start time to get the content transferred, just FYI. Started building the cue sheets as well. Got the first three days done. NPP Projection Admin (Lillian/Will) 7/7

To do this evening/ was completed: Leon Chase for Hank's Saloon came by to tech his film today. He's super happy with the outcome of his DCP and is really, really excited about the screening.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Buena Vista Social Club is just about sorted for this evening -the hosts did not respond to our request for a good quality video of the Tony Awards performance that we could download, so I found it on YouTube and let them know. I made a DCP, which will likely sound good between 3.5 - 4.5, but we'll have 15min to tech it before we open doors for the show!  Superman playlists built - I swapped out the atmos file that was first ingested and got the regular 7.1 in there! Projection Admin 9/8 Lillian/Will

To do this evening/ was completed: Double confirmed with Chris and folks that the print of Vicious Lips is, in fact, Vampire Lovers. They are in the process of sending Cyborg. I took the Vicious Lips trailer out of the playlists that had them, which we'll replace with Cyborg once it's available.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built the playlist for Higher Learning .  Trailer Updates: ^ as per the above, we'll be getting the Cyborg trailer and updated version of the Forecast_A for 9/12 sometime tonight.  Special Events/ AV set up: We got the PA system with wireless mics setup for the show tonight in T2. I went through all the pieces of content for the drag performance(s) and confirmed sound/adjusted a few levels for the music, some of which were way too loud. I double checked/techd the lighting cues and wrote the info into the event memo for easy access (not everything seems to be accurate on the sheet, which I will update on Wednesday).
