NPP Projection Report 9/6 Open Alec & Will


To do this evening/ was completed:

Presentation Issues: Wyatt radioed about a dowser glitch at the start of Son of the White Mare, there was no picture on screen when the feature started. This happens occasionally for lens/masking changes--the dowser open cue goes through but the dowser does not physically respond to the cue, Will caught it and hit the dowser close/dowser open buttons on the projector which solved it. Guests asked us to rewind the film which I did.

Special Events/ AV set up: The TEAL event(s) all went well! No serious issues; there was a bit of back and forth with the slides in T3, they ultimately wanted the screen black for the conversation and ceremony so the slides wouldn't bleed onto people's faces. Something we can improve next time. I also had the lights in T7 going down at 12:25 for the previews, as we discussed on Thursday, but I did not accurately reflect this on the cue sheet for today so there was a brief moment of confusion which was quickly settled. Everyone from TEAL was happy with how it went and they are interested in coming back for a future event! Speakers, stands, and mics are all broken down. The speakers and their stands are in 4/6, they can get returned to T2 but no rush.

Desmond notified me that Ramona's tech for the Thelma & Louise drag show is in. I programmed a spot setting for her, she requested a golden yellow wash with spots and I think I set one that will be acceptable. It's 604. If it's not what she's looking for, we can do red wash with spots as a back up which is 704.

Jackass: The Movie intro and screening in theater 1 went very smoothly this afternoon. The print is in excellent condition and looked great despite the low-resolution video to 35mm transfer. I placed all reels heads out back on house reels for tomorrow's encore show and brought the mic back up to the booth to charge. Both projectors were cleaned and their exhaust ports were closed -WB

To do this evening/ was completed: More NewFest teching/downloading/ingesting today.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Kat sent the trailer list, I've been ingesting content - forecasts, new trailers and what not, but the QR explainer (V3) won't be available for a few days.  Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Set for the SE shows this weekend. To do this evening/ was completed: Big day for teching. Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Kat sent a new QR code clip which I tech'd volume for and added to all the 9/18 and SE playlists we have. The volume (3.8) has been noted on the white board. Projection Admin 9/2

To do this evening/ was completed: Our Network has been updated. Nick from DMS came in to drop off the relay mechanism and take a look at 3/7 before his install visit next week. I showed him in and around the space and he checked in with the WiFi guys. He also liased with Chris whilst scoping out the existing relay system in in 3/7.  It is still somewhat of a wreck in the 46 booth (cables and boxes that, to my knowledge, need to be thrown out, but I asked if they were going to clean up/what needs to be cleared out and I didn't get a proper response in both English and when I asked in Spanish lol so apparently someone might be coming round to finish that up tomorrow. If we don't, we can call Juan and double check. I did tidy things up though, so at least it's not absolute chaos in here.  Once the Network was up and properly running, I tested out theatres 4 and 6 to see if anything needed to be rebooted and lo n behold, only the dimmer panels needed to be rebooted in all the...
