Projection Report 2/28

Presentation Issues: No issues tonight! Preshow Clips/Playlist: I created an A1_StarEncore playlist for the new version of A Star is Born opening tomorrow. I deleted the old playlist to avoid any confusion. Please use this playlist when manually starting the show. Dylan P. -- I'm ingesting Birds of Passage from eclairplay now. Can you make/schedule the playlist for it tomorrow AM? Thank you. Trailer Updates: Updated all trailer packs. We're running CLIMAX and CAPTAIN MARVEL for the adult shows. All Ages run the same as last week with minor in-house trailer adjustments. Special Events/ AV set up: none Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Keep an eye out for Birds of Passage poster and hang out front once it arrives. Ordering/Receiving (content): I received/started ingesting our DCP of Birds of Passage via eclairplay. Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Please QC Birds of Passage tomorrow AM. Presentation Issues: there was a literal last-minute race to get the KDMs for Goodfellas, which were not delivered to us until about a half hour before the start of preshow. This was a pretty crazy situation, but it all worked out. Thank you to Dylan S, Mascha, John, and Matthew for all having a hand in getting Warner Bros and Deluxe to talk to each other and get us the keys. Preshow Clips/Playlist: made A1 playlists for Greta, Sound Of Music, and Into The SpiderVerse. I also scheduled all shows for Friday & Saturday where possible. ** received new KDMs for Bohemian Rhapsody and Sound Of Music. These have been ingested. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: GOODFELLAS special event. Once we got the KDMs, this went fine. The DCP looked and sounded excellent. We did not receive the intro slide, however, so I built some black into the playlist and Nick gave his intro in front of that. All good. Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (conten

Presentation Issues: none Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Trivia night setup went well! Max brought some more cables, including 2 1/8" to 1/8",  two XLR to 1/4" (one with split left/right jacks), and an XLR to 1/8", they're in the storage room by the mezzanine. Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Downloaded the Birds of Passage trailer from Eclairplay and added it to the Adult trailer pack, I replaced Her Smell. **Birds of Passage poster should arrive Thursday, put in the order for Fighting with My Family poster today as well; Apollo 11 posters are not yet available and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse is out of stock (they will send when they restock but it may be too late). ***Switched the Cold War poster for Bohemian Rhapsody Ordering/Receiving (content): Greta DCP ingested and transferred to servers 3 and 6. Sound of Music DCP ingested to TMS. Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection:

Presentation Issues: During the last round T4's server paused itself and would not load any content. Thankfully no tickets had been sold in there for this round. I restarted the server and I was able to load and play content again. My guess is that there was/is an exhaust issue with the projector. The duct was hanging by a thread at the top so I taped it back together but even after that I was hearing some unnerving rattling sounds near where the duct meets the projector. I tried moving the lever to open/close the exhaust flow a bit and I think I got a clear airflow, but will definitely keep my eye on this and note any issues tomorrow. Since this is a really long paragraph I'm going to preface by saying it's not that serious, just verrry peculiar: After some minor issues on Saturday I kept a close eye on masking cues today, and there are issues in houses 4, 6, and 1. It seems that the masking opens to scope (2.35:1) on the cue to set it to flat (1.85) in these houses

Projection Report 2/24 (All Day)

Presentation Issues: No issues tonight Preshow Clips/Playlist: Created A1 playlists for Candyman and Goodfellas. Finished scheduling and updated cue sheets as well. Ingested a lot of in-house material from Dropbox for upcoming events. Trailer Updates: None yet. Don’t forget to remove the Candyman trailer on Tuesday. Special Events/ AV set up: none Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Distro Doc updated/checked?: Maintenance/cleaning: Cue sheets updated (only if needed): Updated the cue sheets through Thursday with end credit times for Goodfellas and Candyman. Projection Report 2/23 (evening)

Presentation Issues: I kept an eye out for masking/lens cue errors and I noticed that the masking cue at the end of each show in 4, 6, and 1 didn't take, so I manually switched it back. There were no issues with the projector or the masking switching from flat to scope on the cue, so shows were not affected. Preshow Clips/Playlist: For some reason Roma's playlist did not have cues to switch the projector and masking to scope for the feature so I added them Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested Candyman, Goodfellas, and Madonna and the Breakfast Club (file named MatbcTextedDcp...) Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Distro Doc updated/checked?: Maintenance/cleaning: Cue sheets updated (only if needed): Showtime boards & recording updated?: Cleaning lights on for the night? : yes Lo-Res : Additional Notes:

Projection report 2/23 daytime (Dyl P.)

Presentation Issues: It seems that some of the automation cues in the 'start of show' pack are not clicking on. For both Alita and Vice, which had successful scheduled starts, I spotted the preshows running in scope — both masking and image file on the projector — which in addition to just being wrong made our in-house content look awkward. I tried to keep an eye on this throughout the day and catch it where I could, but, with so many screens to watch, it might be a good idea to just manually hit the flat masking and projector cues at the start of each show again just to make sure our preshow content is running correctly. Preshow Clips/Playlist: the SPL for Fighting With My Family (including preshow) had not been loaded to screen 3. I sent it over when I first came in — no problems. ** Fighting With My Family playlist also did not include scope masking/lens cues. I added these in. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers

I’ll change the snipe from Coming Soon to Now Playing tomorrow. Ordering/Receiving (content): Candyman should arrive tomorrow. Outgoing/Shipping (content): Brought another 5 DCPs to UPS dropoff. Projection Report 2/20

Presentation Issues: Not an issue per se, but the Lego Movie 2 playlist showed up light blue instead of green in the scheduler, apparently this means that the show is playing as scheduled but will end late, it only did this for the first two rounds though Preshow Clips/Playlist: I noticed that lights were not coming up at the beginning of credits for Alita and Lego Movie 2 (possibly others). This must be because there are separate credit and crawl start times included with the drives. I think that in cases which there is no post-credit scene (I think Aquaman is the only one like that we've had to deal with?) we should use the credit start time for the lighting cue since people tend to leave then anyway, and it would make it easier for servers in busy shows with short flip times. Trailer Updates: Trailer list was sent out this morning but we're still waiting on DCPs for house-made trailers/pre-show, they'll be ready tomorrow. Ingested the Apollo 11 trailer to TMS Spec

Presentation Issues: None Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): John dropped off the DCP for Madonna and the Breakfast Club, it's on a silver USB hard drive next to the computer in 4/6. Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Distro Doc updated/checked?: Maintenance/cleaning: Cue sheets updated (only if needed): Made cue sheets for next week, left out credits start/end times for Fighting w/ Family, Roma, Candyman, and Goodfellas so we can get a more accurate idea when we have preshow items/trailer lists and can schedule them. Showtime boards & recording updated?: Took down Willy Wonka and Black Panther from the marquee and put up Candyman and Sound of Music (with dates) to the side that isn't blocked by construction Cleaning lights on for the night? : yes Lo-Res : Additional Notes:

Cables have been returned to the booth. Additional Notes: Updated the lobby marquee with next week's midnight

Dylan Saturday 2/16/19

Presentation Issues: None Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: SPOONS TOONS. Totally normal Spoons. However, we did notice that the image file for the stage computer seems to be punched in slightly — it was cropping off the top of Michael's slides a little bit more than normal. I tried to fix it on the projector controls, but it still seems a little weird (not disruptively weird, though). Anybody touch this recently? Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: teched LOVE SIMON when I first came in. Set the volume and lights-up cues. Ran like a charm. Distro Doc updated/checked?: Maintenance/cleaning: Cue sheets updated (only if needed): Showtime boards & recording updated?: Cleaning lights on for the night? : Lo-Res: Spoons after-show. All good. Cables have been stored away in the Lo-Res for tomorrow. Additional Notes:

Presentation Issues: Nada Preshow Clips/Playlist: built the WILLY WONKA playlist for the weekend. There was no end credit offset information on Deluxe, so I added a little black at the end of the playlist to make the lights-up process a bit more gradual. ** scheduled shows for Saturday through Thursday. Deleted a ton of stuff from the servers to make room for incoming shows (including Glass and Capernaum, which ended their runs today) Be on the lookout for manual starts . . . Trailer Updates: Matthew asked for Fighting With My Family to be added to the trailer pack when we have the opportunity Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): received posters for THE WEDDING GUEST and THE MUSTANG. Not sure if we're showing these. Posters are still in tubes in booth 3/7. Ordering/Receiving (content): received the drive for FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY. Dylan Wednesday 2/13

Presentation Issues: All three rounds of THEY SHALL NOT... let out six minutes later than listed on the cue sheet. ** had a bit of an issue with one of the handicapped seats in theater 7. It was held down with a philips heads screw instead of a bolt — we couldn't find the screwdriver in any of the booths, but somehow the managers were able to get the seat out. Took a bit of time, though. See the manager blog for more details. Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built playlists for CASABLANCA and ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL (both 5.1 and 7.1), scheduled them for tomorrow (also made a 'Love Is Love' preshow pack). I used all-ages friendly content for Casablanca and the adult preshows/trailers for Alita. ** Bohemian was not ingested to server 4 when I came in. I sent it out. The Favourite's KDMs were also about to expire; I called Dolby and had them send new KDMs, uploaded them in time for the first show. *** made changes in the scheduler for tomorrow based on the schedule changes M

Projection Report 2/10

Presentation Issues: Lots of manual starts/quick turns leads to confusion! Don’t forget to check the drop down menu when you’re in manual playback mode. If it’s set to loop it WILL override the scheduler, even if you turn off manual playback. This happened during the last round in T6. To be safe, always set it to “play” or “play then eject” before you switch off manual playback. Preshow Clips/Playlist: see below Trailer Updates: I think the language was a bit vague in the trailer updates this week and whoever made the playlist for the Oscars Animated Shorts used the adult trailer pack instead of the all ages pack. I switched this after the first round when a server alerted me to this. Please double check your work and email me or Kris King if you have any questions! Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Keep an eye out for our “Isn’t It Romantic?” posters to arrive. Hang it out front with a “coming soon” snipe if it arrives before Wednesday.

Dylan Friday 2/8

Presentation Issues: the fire alarm trigger went off, silently, at some point, in (only) screen 6. First show started with the cleaning lights locked on. Had to clear the macro, etc. Not sure why this seems to keep happening in theater 6, but, it did. ** I had a weird TMS zone-out while trying to edit the sound cues on the live action shorts and somehow doubled (?) the trailer pack and feature at the end of the playlist. Not sure how I did this, but, it happened. Did not realize this until after the playlist had started in the last round — but caught the problem before lights-down. I stopped the playlist, edited it, and re-started it. No problem. Thank you Rachel for working crowd control for me during this. Preshow Clips/Playlist: scheduled Wednesday and Thursday's shows where possible (with the exception of Casablanca and Isn't It Romantic) **** note: there's a crazy amount of films jumping from theater to theater on these two days — please judiciously delete conten

Presentation Issues: none Preshow Clips/Playlist: I create A1 playlists for Lego Movie 2, TSNOG, and A Star is Born. Trailer Updates: Ingested the new content from Kris King. If Alec or Dylan P could add it to the correct packs before showtime tomorrow, that would be great. Special Events/ AV set up: none Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Alec hung up Cold War and Lego Movie 2 yesterday! And a poster for Greta arrived today, but that can wait awhile to go up. Ordering/Receiving (content): Outgoing/Shipping (content): I walked some DCPs to the UPS store down the street and will continue to do so whenever I can. Still waiting for that courier to show up and pick up the Lego Movie 2 DCP though! Print/video Inspection: I QC'd TSNOG and e-mailed Matthew about the runtime discrepancy. For anyone unaware: the runtime for the version we're playing is 2 hours and 12 minutes long. It features behind-the-scenes supplements with Peter Jackson before and after the

Projection Report 2/1 (Dylan P.)

Presentation Issues: The center audio channel in theater 3 is not functioning properly — according to both Sam and Steve at DMS, we have a busted driver. This means that the center channel (where the dialogue & much of the sound mix plays from) sounds like it is missing all of its bass, and has a crushed, 'tinny' sound to it (somebody said it sounds like it is playing from a tin can, which I agree with).      We've had many customer complaints about this today (the problems started with the first round of The Favourite). During the changeover between the first and second round, I tried rebooting both the CP750 processor and the DCM monitor, but this did not fix the problem. After that, I confirmed with DMS that the speaker is most likely busted and needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, this is a hardware issue and there is not much I can do to fix it on my own.       It should be noted that the surround speakers were still working correctly, which is part of what mad
