To do this evening/ was completed: Took down Beau  poster, put up Mermaid, Past Lives and The Flash in the coming soon slots. Spiderman on the marquee. Didn't manage to put the Spiderman poster out front, so that'll have to go up tomorrow. Double checked most days on the upcoming week's cue sheets. TMS was missing a few shutdown cues. Trees laptop connection all set. The Apple + intro went very smoothly. Had to crank the sound to maximum on both processors per Cristina's request. It was very loud in the theater but the crowd was into it. Re-inspected the print after the show.  Beau and D&D removed from TMS and individual servers. To do this evening/ was completed: We are losing Beau is Afraid , Dungeons & Dragons , and Master Gardener after tonight. None of these titles are currently on the marquee (pressed for space with long titles/Mubi ad), but we should squeeze Spiderverse up. We'll have to put it on the top row, next to "Now Showing:" Posters should get changed tonight, too. Beau and AYTG can get taken down, Mermaid and Spiderverse moved outside, and Past Lives and The Flash up in the lobby as coming soon. I increased the mono level trim on the CP500 in Theater 1 all the way to 0dB (compared this setting on the 500 in Th4, the trim is set to 0dB on that processor as well) I think this was set a while ago to compensate for the EQ/alignment of the analog soundheads not being perfect, which has since been fixed so no need for the trim anymore. The Apple sounded nice and loud at 9.0 on the 750 and 8.5 on the 500, though it will be a big crowd so we might have to bump it a bit--judging

To do this evening/ was completed: A quiet evening here with no print or trivia, so it was some mostly administrative stuff Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: I built Spider-Verse CCAP and OCAP playlists for 6/2 and built a playlist for Rabid . I think they should be set, but please double check them! Rabid just needs credit offset Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Jack told me that there was a Closed-Captioned device in Theater 2 in the first round. I picked it up and it is back in the closet with the rest of them.  Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Fast X,   Are You There God , You Hurt My Feelings , and Spider-Verse keys are uploaded Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Yes, I also updated the Asset Tracking whiteboard  Maintenance/cleaning: Cue sheets updated/checked (every shift): I filled out the cue sheets for this coming week and scheduled the automation.  Marq

To do this evening/ was completed: Had a bit of difficulty setting up the Blu-Ray screening for Demolition Man this morning. The disc came up just fine on the booth monitor but the projector seemed to not recognize the monitor's HDMI input. When I went into the theater, the PC input was on screen. I had the BR input selected on the Christie. I disconnected and reconnected all HDMI connections, and also tried the other input slot on the splitter but no luck. The projector recognized the connection to the booth monitor but seemed to not register the transition to the HDMI channel. Eventually I elected to run the disc in T2, which worked fine. Keys uploaded for Mario, Beau, Watermelon Woman and Guardians. Rocky Horror ingested to T2, added the feature to the playlist. Reached out to Deluxe about keys for Spiderverse, was told they should open on Friday so we reiterated that we need keys to open Thursday. Harriet the Spy picked up. New schedule isn't fully out yet but the first thr

To do this evening/ was completed: Hawks w/Babies screening tomorrow in T2. Checked the make sure the playlist was set and scheduled--we're all good.  Seat out in T4 for second round ( Guardians ). Screw are on the desk in 4/6. I couldn't find our cordless screwdrivers anywhere, but turns out there was one in T4 already and two by the MOD station. I brought one back to the 4/6 booth to charge, brought another downstairs to 3/7 and kept the third at the MOD station so we're covered in all areas.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Deleted both Harriet the Spy playlists from the TMS. Built the playlist for the June 5th private of The Little Mermaid .  Built the June 2nd private for The Little Mermaid .  Built the playlist for But I'm A Cheerleader . There's no event memo for this, so I reached out to Desmond just to confirm. We don't have a slide.  Built the Rocky Horror playlist--this still needs the feature, which we have yet to receive. No update on

To do this evening/ was completed: I've been noticing for a while that we have to crank the volume on Mono prints in Theater 1, most recently evidenced by The Apple , which landed at 9.5/10. I went into the CP500 settings and increased the Mono Level Trim from -6dB to -5dB. I know we open early tomorrow, but if there's time we might want to run a bit of Nighthawks to check the volume again. If there's no time it won't be a very big deal, I'd just start at 7.0 on both processors as opposed to 8.0 and go from there. Looking like it won't be a huge crowd for this one. Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built a Hawks w/ Babies playlist for the 3:30 Guardians on Tuesday and replaced the regular one which was scheduled. Take a look at this to see how they're built, I made a separate trailer pack, too, so the lights only go down to "Mid" and the trailers won't play as loudly. We should build this along with the other first run playlists fo

To do this evening/ was completed: All 06/02 preshow content downloaded and ingested. First run playlists built. Multiple Maniacs ingested to T2, Watermelon Woman to T4. T1 swept and mopped. Harriet + Hey Arnold and intro in T4 went very smoothly, print has been rewound for tomorrow. Presentation Issues: T2 repeatedly failed to start its scheduled playlists. To do this evening/ was completed: Hi everyone. I'm sure y'all saw my email about T1's IMB issue. So, earlier in the week (weds) I noticed there was a warning on the projector ' failure to connect to IMB ', so I power-cycled/reseated the board and it was perfectly fine- these things happen, they're not out of the ordinary. However, this happened twice today, where the server went down whilst we were finishing up an all-content tech for The Apple . I wound up getting a hold of Chris from DMS and remoted him in. He checked our diagnostics--all of which are great--but it looks like the projector didn't shut down or turn on properly before (Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning maybe). He also mentioned that it's definitely a good thing to reseat the board more frequently than we're used to since the card cage heats up easily with the Christie model we have in there, so reseating the cables will also prevent that from happening. Everything is stable right

To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: No presentation issues apart from a request to bring Little Mermaid's volume up a hair. I've adjusted the playlists for this feature. The mix is actually a little funky. It can be quite quiet at times and pretty appropriately loud elsewhere.  Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Total Recall went just fine! Host will pickup the BluRay another time. Chenelle said she'd let us know when that is.  Wedding Banquet was a major hit in T4. Super enthusiastic crowd. Print was re-inspected and wound back onto shipping reels.  Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Looks like  Spider-Man: Across The Spiderverse will be available for download either tomorrow or Saturday.  Outgoing/Shipping (content): Print/video Inspection: Post inspection information for The Wedding Banquet is on the Drive.  Asset tracking doc updated/checked?: Maintenance/cleaning: Cue sheets

To do this evening/ was completed: We're good on content right now - just waiting on Spider Verse .  Just a note: if we receive a KDM with a tight window (i.e. Past Lives ) bump me even if it's my day off, or reach out to see if we can get an earlier open. The KDM goes live today after 3:30pm, when Fast X is already in preshow. Ideally, we want more than a few minutes before the show to tech, if possible.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Tech'd Little Mermaid . Credits info has been added to the cue sheets and to the white board in 4/6.  Past Lives playlist is set.  Scheduled more shows on the TMS.  Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up:  Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers): Ordering/Receiving (content): Ingested Super Mario Brothers & DnD  key extensions Downloaded the slide for The Apple , made a DCP and ingested it. To do this evening/ was completed: Cool World finally got picked up. Ingested keys for Past Lives --they aren't active until tomorrow 5/24. Tech'd the Total Recall playlist--all in order but: the DCP we made is slightly letterboxed. Wondering if we should make a new one. Ran reel one of Nighthawks for Cristina--the fading of the print isn't cause for concern. Volume logged. Tech'd Driver 23  with Cristina and John, volume logged. Ran loops and set up a mic for the intro tonight, just turn the power strip and mixer on. Cleaned the projectors as well. Tech'd the Hey Arnold short + reels one and five of Harriet the Spy-- volumes logged. Hey Arnold looked just fine in 1:85.  Harriet presented two oddities: reel one played just fine in SR-D, however I mistakenly bypassed the digital soundhead for reel five so that played in SR. Desmond alerted me to a sort of slight, repetitive sound that was coming in from the front speakers from time to time. To my ear it kind of mimic

To do this evening/ was completed: Posting now before my eyes start to get a little sleepy.  Added a bunch of photos to the drive for  Harriet the Spy  and  But I'm a Cheerleader .  Noticed that  Driver 23  wasn't scheduled on the TMS, likely because it starts two minutes after the previous show lets out, so keep an eye on that playlist to make sure it starts. No biggy if it doesn't since we can just manually start that.  I reached out to the folks in charge of Past Lives to see if we'll be getting that KDM soon since the screening is this Wednesday. It's coming through Deluxe, and whilst there's an active order, it looks as though they're being held. I copied Jeffrey and the projection team so we an all receive an update and get those keys asap.  We did not receive the film schedule yet.  Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: I built a playlist for Total Recall (the private on 5/25). To do this evening/ was completed: Cool World is still here-scheduled a Ground pickup for tomorrow 10:30-6. Inspected Nighthawks print. Physically it's in great condition--not a single splice, minimal base scratching, but every reel is a bit faded and pink. Programming has been made aware, going to tech it tomorrow with Cristina. Ran loops for Raw Deal tonight and left the projector lamps on for a few hours. No issues with P2. Checked on all of the first floor AC units--they're functioning properly, all set to "cooling".  T2 round one did not start as automated, per usual. Only a few minutes delay. To do this evening/ was completed: The ACs came back on in 3/7 and 5 shortly after I got in today, and they stayed on. I had to switch the T5 unit back to the cooling setting (it was only on fan mode when it turned back on) and there's been some strange occurrences with the AC units in general where they change their temperature setting seemingly randomly, so I still think they should be looked at when Palco comes tomorrow. Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Continued building the Apple playlist, it needs the intro slide, though. Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: I built up the two Mulan reels we have on the T4 platter. Unfortunately the brains I took from Williamsburg don't work with these, so I modified the ones we had so they should turn the deck continuously. To do this evening/ was completed: I put the bigger blue fan in 3/7 to improve the airflow, that mini fan wasn't doing much. This plus leaving the door open seemed to help since I didn't get any temperature warnings all day. There are also a couple of 10+ minute breaks in Theaters 3 and 5 between shows where we can turn off the lamp and it will have the full 10 minutes to cool off before the next preshow starts. Unfortunately no such opportunities in 7. I wrote the times down on the whiteboard when we can shut the lamps off, they apply for tonight and tomorrow night. It's raining, so keep an eye on booth 2 for leaks. Nothing so far, but I left the pack of cloths in there just in case. We need to ingest GotG 3 to Theater 6 since it has a screening in there on Wednesday. There's enough space for it at the moment but it would make the server pretty much completely full. To do this evening/ was completed: Kept an eye on booths 5 and 3/7. Both projectors in 3/7 were featuring filter air intake warnings, the one in T3 listed as critical. Also ICP FGPA Temperature Out Of Range warning for T3. I went downstairs during round three and saw that the door to the booth had been closed and that a lot of heat had started to accumulate. With the booth door open the heat dissipated--checked in on the shows and everything was running smoothly. No issues in T5. All shows ran smoothly but staff should be told not to close the booth door right now. Ingested You Hurt My Feelings to TMS. To do this evening/ was completed: Hey everyone, please make sure you fully address the cue sheet section in your blog every shift. We've gone over this - it is mandatory.  Just so everyone knows - Paul and Matthew are working on fixing the first floor AC Units for booths 3/7 & 5. There's a miniature fan going in 3/7, but it's not enough to keep the projector from flashing warnings every now and again. It will be fine, and the door to T5 is open, but please check in on the projectors every few hours.  Another note: When we schedule the TMS and cross reference it with the cue sheets, we should be checking to make sure all KDMs are active (including T7! - despite the fact it always says that KDMs are missing when they're not, we still can't guarantee this isn't correct sometimes). We didn't have a proper extension for DnD or Super Mario, the former of which needed it for a showing today, and whilst this is largely a booking mishap, we do have some control

I checked in with MOD and they had a technician come round to adjust the settings on the pad downstairs, so it might've been that. Nothing to worry about right now, really. To do this evening/ was completed: Cool World screening in T1 had some issues. The lamp/rectifier in P2 shut off about 40% through the first reel of the film. I muted the processor and stopped the motor, tried repeatedly to turn the rectifier off then on again. No luck. Turned the P2 breaker off and on, no luck with that either. Eventually I was able to get the rectifier back on and strike the lamp, however it shut itself off again about thirty seconds later. At this point I resolved to run the whole show off of P1. Transferred reel one from P2 to P1 and started projecting about 10-15 min after the initial pause. Tried to keep MOD as informed as possible, Wyatt made an announcement to the crowd. To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: The second round in theater 1 was delayed 9 minutes because the server paused playback (this happened yesterday before the start of the second round then but I was able to catch it after just a minute had elapsed); MODs let me know about the delay -- I was outside updating the marquee and could not hear the call on the walkie over the very loud and obnoxiously parked ice cream truck -- and was able to get the show up and running before any further issues developed Preshow Clips/Playlist: Built and scheduled playlists for Renfield  and updated the cue sheets (the 5.1 CCAP file was removed after the 7.1 finished ingesting); also scheduled the show playlist for  Return of the King  which still needs to be checked for credit offset times Removed John Wick: Chapter 4 pre-show content from T6 server to make room for the Renfield 7.1 CCAP feature file Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: Ordering/Receiving (posters & trailers)

To do this evening/ was completed: Thanks, everyone, for coming to the cinema meeting today! Williamsburg June schedule is still getting sorted, but we've got just about everything sorted. Alec will be mulling it over.  All SE playlists built--a few are missing credit offset times ( Smithereens, Buck Alamo).  Tech'd Suzume-- subtitled version with OCAP confirmed to work just fine. Scheduled a pickup for Dead Calm tomorrow between 12-6--print can be brought down tonight or tomorrow morning. Presentation Issues: NOT a presentation issue, but I alerted MOD that the beeping sound they're hearing from T5 (and perhaps in other booths) is the APC. We're getting new ones tomorrow and Alec and I will install on the dot. We'll more than survive until tomorrow. This is backup. Don't worry about the noise-- it's just an alert that they're running low.  Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: BCB sounds great at 4.0. Added to the white board.  Special Events/ AV set

Alec's notes are underlined . To do this evening/ was completed: Re-inspected Dead Calm,  nothing new to report. Didn't schedule a pickup yet--can be done tomorrow. BCB_2023 trailer downloaded and ingested, added to all trailer packs. Suzume playlists built. Wired mics and mixers set in T1 for tonight. Tech'd Passages (5.0 vol), Juice (5.0 vol) and Wedding Banquet with programming--all good to go. Scheduled all first run content for the upcoming week in TMS sans OCAP screenings, those still need to be added. Sundays on Fire preshow content re-ingested to TMS. Fast X ingested to T1. Tetsuo: The Iron Man is downloading to the desktop--we received a few other features from Elizabeth Purcell (seems like this was only sent to the KDM email). Looks like Smithereens will need to be downloaded from this link too. I unarchived this to the NPP hard drive. This is formatted for ingesting so we can locally ingest the feature from this drive. To do this evening/ was completed: Dead Calm in T4 went almost perfectly but I unfortunately forgot to close the gate after double checking my framing for reel five. When I switched over to the final reel, I immediately recognized the gate wasn't locked. Muted the processor, killed the motor and closed the gate, advanced the film a few frames, got the show back on screen. Whole thing lasted maybe 15 seconds but painful nonetheless. Won't happen again. Print has been rewound and will be re-inspected tomorrow. Locally ingested Suzume to T5, started scheduling upcoming week in TMS. To do this evening/ was completed: FYI - keys for Juice open up tomorrow morning. It can get tech'd then.  We're bringing Renfield back! Matthew is reaching out for the booking. We still have the preshow content for this on the TMS. Please don't delete it! Thanks! Presentation Issues: Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: We received (and ingested) the KDMs for the two episodes of The Other Two for the NewFestxHBO event tomorrow evening. They will be active from 5pm to 10pm. They also forgot to put the disclaimer in the DCP of the first ep, so they sent it separately to be played before the first episode. I ingested this and adjusted the playlist accordingly! All set for tomorrow. PLEASE double check the event memo and check that disclaimer file tomorrow morning just to make sure there's nothing funky about it (file is HBOInPersonDisclaimer. Also, we talked about this the day of tech and they're fine without a masking preset--both epi

To do this evening/ was completed: 2001 went very smoothly today aside from one half-hiccup: read most of the inspection notes but didn't see the bit about two sets of cues for reel six, which ended with the intermission title card. So the card flashed on screen for a second or two instead of running its course (30-ish seconds).  Re-inspected the first four reels of the film afterward. To do this evening/ was completed:  Presentation Issues: Not a massive issue, but I got a call from MOD about a strange noise in T7. Nathaniel and I went to scope things out. I checked to make sure it wasn't one of the surround speakers. It's not anything to do with the sound system for projection, which is good, but there's essentially some slight humming noise coming from the ceiling where the steps lead up to the server station. I waited to check things out properly until after the last round so as not to cause more of a disturbance since you can barely tell the noise is there. I'll check in more on Monday, but please keep an eye on this for tomorrow's shows should anything serious arise.  I don't know why I forgot about this since I literally have to do the same thing in T2 to prep the bench, but my scatterbrain forgot that, yes, the spindle does come out of the friction clutch---as Alec referenced earlier in the day, it had been bolted in there for a long,
