To do this evening/ was completed: We received the print of The Godfather Part 3 this evening and, unfortunately, it suffers from pretty extreme vinegar syndrome--which normally wouldn't worry me too much (a blue image we can get away with)--but the print is structurally off to a large degree with intense warping. The print does not sit safely on reels, nor is it easy to transfer. I notified Desmond, John and sent information to the distro to see what we can do when we're this down to the wire. I wish we had received this print earlier in the week, but we'll figure it out!  Decided to say 'goodbye' to that DCP of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants because that file was not looking hugely acceptable, at least to me. Impossible to fid a BluRay of it, but I did see that Park Circus distributed a new 35mm print for a screening at the AC this past June, which I notified Desmond/John of to see if it might be possible for us to get that print.  Presentation Issues: Preshow...

To do this evening/ was completed: Looked at Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants-- it looks ok, definitely like a DVD rip. Desmond sent over a second torrent file, which I downloaded. Looks about the same as the first to my eye. Also looked at Demon Slayer, Tropic Thunder  and Mimic. Demon Slayer sounds a little loud at 5.5 to my ear--I feel like this is a common occurrence: somehow the action is a little too loud but the dialogue is slightly too low. I didn't update the playlists so maybe pop an ear in during tonight's show. ** Tropic Thunder and Traveling Pants are both 2:35 so there's a slight visible keystone.** Ran Longest Nite for Cristina--it's Dolby A type FYI.  Deleted old playlists, ingested new forecasts and preshow pieces and built all A1 9/19 playlists. To do this evening/ was completed: Had a little bit of a hassle with getting Apple TV up and running in T1 this morning for the Found Footage staff screening. The PC is not exactly reliable (mouse/wifi/and mind you, Apple TV app won't work on any of our iMacs that aren't 15 OS or higher) and I'll be looking into ways to make this less so. We only started a couple minutes late. I wound up being able to download the film so as to curtail any wifi issues.  We were emailed a new VF file for the Dubbed OCAP version of Demon Slayer. Looked at Thief of Joy with Desmond in between rounds in T2. Sounds good at 4.5. Stolen Kingdom finished downloading, started the transfer to the Share drive. Looked at the Animated Shorts playlist again and I see some volumes that differ from the tech sheet Alec has left in 4/6. Not sure if this was mentioned in a recent blog so noting it here. A few downloads remain. Looked at Higher Learning. Volume good at 5.0, added lights up cue. T4 lamp has exceeded its 3K hours. Should be fine for tonight. If it gets changed tomorrow during admin, would it be possible to film the process for demonstration/reference purposes? The curtain call slide I made was hidden in a folder on the desktop (forgot to copy to the Share folder), and the one that was re-ingested did not have the slide, just black and the curtain call song. I'd deleted it which is why it was in the ingest history but not on the LMS. The new slide is ingested and in the playlist. It's named "SLIDE_ThelmaLouise_TipsCurtain" Added the Adult Animation trailer and the intro slide to the NSF Animation playlist and scheduled it. I couldn't locate the Curtain Call/Breakdown DCP Alec made when searching for "curtain call", so I went through the transfer history and saw that it had been ingested. Nevertheless when I searched for it it wouldn't appear. So I dragged into the Share folder and didn't receive any message about the file already existing there. Re-ingested. Went to inspect Vicious Lips but it turns out that we were sent a different print inside of cans labeled "Vicious Lips". The print is a movie called The Vampire Lovers. I looked at the first two reels while I watched Vampire Lovers on Dailymotion and it's for sure the same film. Emailed Cristina. To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: Wyatt radioed about a dowser glitch at the start of Son of the White Mare , there was no picture on screen when the feature started. This happens occasionally for lens/masking changes--the dowser open cue goes through but the dowser does not physically respond to the cue, Will caught it and hit the dowser close/dowser open buttons on the projector which solved it.
