These are advertising open submissions for next year's shorts fest so the dates will be different. I deleted the '25 ones. To do this evening/ was completed: I did some testing with our new fire alarm cues. I'm still not 100% certain what happened yesterday which caused the issue at the Cyborg screening, but I did discover that the 35mm motors won't start and lamps won't strike if the "Fire Alarm Pause" cue has been fired, until you fire the "Fire Alarm Reset" cue. Lillian only fired the reset cue yesterday, though. Perhaps the fire alarm went off again later in the day and she wasn't aware, preventing the motors and lamps from turning on until Will and I hit the reset cue. To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: The lamp and motor were malfunctioning and the start of the feature in theater 1 during the Cyborg  screening. Power was on and running to the projectors but the lamps would not ignite and the motors would not run. I made an announcement to the audience and brought up the house lights. Thankfully Alec was in the crowd and came up to lend a hand. We tried throwing breaker switches on and off and doing the same with switches on the projector itself. Alec seated and reseated some cables inside the projector to no avail. Some twenty minutes passed before I thought that the fire alarm test from this morning might have had something to do with the equipment malfunctioning. We triggered the alarm reset cue and everything worked like normal. I was in contact the MODs and Cristina. Guests had left the auditorium but come back once they announced the film was in fact not cancelled and up and running again. Show played just fine until I ...

To do this evening/ was completed: Fire alarm went off this morning, in strange waves, too. It would turn off and then on again in different areas, which might've contributed to the bizarre thing in T2 (which I believe has happened before but maybe no in that theatre. All theatres were reset, but the nature of the fire alarm lasting so long might've corrupted the reset somehow. I did, however, send a follow up email to DMS in the thread for T6, adding in a strange situation we had in T2 today. The first round in T2 only pulled up the feature so I turned it off immediately (no one had shown up yet) and let MOD to hold off on seating for a few minutes. I was able to pull up the playlist manually and everything was fine after that. This could be a strange one off, (and/or due to the fire alarm), or an IMS/Screenwriter issue, but either way, I'll have Will pull a report in between rounds just in case, as well as hit "fire alarm clear" on the quick controls again for p...

Did we ever hear about a replacement reel on the way? The World Before Your Feet CRU drive arrived, DCP ingested. Presentation Issues: T6 server went down some time after round one ended. MOD walkie'd to ask me to bring the house lights down for trailers during the second round. I couldn't access the server so I knew what was happening. Had to manually adjust volume, picture and masking, all of which was done as seamlessly as possible. Projector will need to be restarted after the end of this round, and remember to bring the house lights up during credits. To do this evening/ was completed:  Looked at They Live and Troll 2  with Cristina, volumes logged. Troll 2 starts very abruptly, no intro credits. McKegg looked at a torrent and there's an MGM card before going into the scene that starts the print. This card could be from a later DVD rip though, as it says mgm.com at the bottom. The print has a lot of wear, at least during the first minutes of reel one, then that reel steadies out and looks good. Reel three has over forty repairs. So we're going to attach a slide before the print starts that shows a disclaimer stating the print's condition. I ingested the slide and put it at the end of the preshow. Looked at Godfather III DCP , Mars Express and Desire: Carl Craig Story. All volumes logged, playlists have been made and scheduled. Godfather III print is on the cart by the side entrance for Ground pickup tomorrow. We received prints of Cyborg and Bones , both in T1. Scheduled a Wednesday pickup for Godfather III --it came with return labels. Spent most of the evening with the Thief of Joy event in T2. It went smoothly overall but there were two hiccups. Gianmarco had a video team that wanted to record mic sound from the booth, so we went to the booth and I pointed out that we record our Q&As with a webcam that's connected to the Shure receivers. I did a test before the preshow started and couldn't get any sound on the recording, so I switched audio inputs on the PC and did another test but still no sound. So the AV guy then connected his Zoom recorder to the Shure headphone jack and I tested the mic again but he wasn't picking up anything. Eventually they decided to use lav mics for the Q&A. I then went through older T2 recordings and it seems like no audio was recorded ...

They are expediting a CRU drive, which will arrive here at 10:30am tomorrow morning. They don't have it via satellite. To do this evening/ was completed: We received the print of The Godfather Part 3 this evening and, unfortunately, it suffers from pretty extreme vinegar syndrome--which normally wouldn't worry me too much (a blue image we can get away with)--but the print is structurally off to a large degree with intense warping. The print does not sit safely on reels, nor is it easy to transfer. I notified Desmond, John and sent information to the distro to see what we can do when we're this down to the wire. I wish we had received this print earlier in the week, but we'll figure it out!  Decided to say 'goodbye' to that DCP of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants because that file was not looking hugely acceptable, at least to me. Demon Slayer sounds a little loud at 5.5 to my ear--I feel like this is a common occurrence: somehow the action is a little too loud but the dialogue is slightly too low.
