Updated playlists for Selena , Total Recall , Eve’s Bayou preshow, House Party preshow, and Cool as Ice preshow so they are timed properly. Feature missing from the Total Recall playlist and slides missing from Eve’s Bayou , House Party , and Cool as Ice . To do this evening/ was completed: Update marquee and put a now showing snipe above Oscar Shorts poster in the lobby. Ingest NSF preshow when it’s finished downloading to the DCP hard drive. Foxfire 35mm screening with Q&A in Theater 1, scope lenses and plates are in place in both projectors. Playlist is ready with both slides, I have it set to pause over a black clip with the dowser on the digital projector closed and lamp off while the film plays, so just strike the lamp towards the end of the film and press play on the server when it ends, also set up the camcorder to record the Q&A. To do this evening/ was completed: Removed Sweetback and The Dark Crystal from T1 and T2 servers. Turntable setup in Trees Lounge was left to Jesse at the end of the night. I checked in a few times towards midnight and eventually asked Jesse around 12:05 if he could break things down. He said it was no problem for him to break down the turntable and return it to 3/7. I told him the XLR cables are ours as well and to leave them with the equipment in 3/7. Presentation Issues: Few slight notes about the 35mm screening in T1: During the lead up to reel 6, I forgot to close the lens turret. As I hit the changeover, the screen went black. I recognized my mistake immediately and got picture back on screen. Black screen for about 2-3 seconds. During the credits of the film, I could see text beneath the bottom of the screen--wasn't prominent in any sense but it was there. This was coming from Projector 1. To do this evening/ was completed: Finished reorganizing the VHS Vault folders, while there was no porno in the All Ages folder (I think someone must have mistakenly played the After Hours content during an early round), there was some in the After Hours folder, which had been moved to an “X Rated” folder. As previously mentioned, there was a lot of stuff in the All Ages folder which shouldn’t have been, it’s all in After Hours now. I added the X Rated folder to the Plex and rescanned the content for all folders so all my reorganizing is reflected on the app. I also pinned all three folders to the sidebar on Plex for easy access, previously only the After Hours folder was pinned. I had accidentally hit a switch on the front of the projector (labeled “platter”) when sweeping the booth before the screening and hadn’t noticed, apparently this controls the motor. I quickly turned the switch on and started the second reel, there was about 5 seconds of leader on screen due to this. The reason I figured it out so quickly was because I hit a different switch while sweeping (labeled “proj”) which caused the light inside the projector body to go off, so I noticed this one right away but

I experienced a few very minor growing pains operating the Century 35mm projectors for the first time, but nothing more than one framing issue with the plate at the beginning that was easily fixed and one or two kind of sloppy changeovers.  Preshow Clips/Playlist: Trailer Updates: Special Events/ AV set up: I helped out a bit with running the Awards Ceremony event and breaking it down. The "Shattered" screening was an overall success. John and Cristina's intros went great. By the last two changeovers I had found my rhythm and factored in the difference in motor speed between the Century projectors and Simplex projectors that I'm used to. Century kicks in a bit faster. I had everything set up following what Chenelle relayed to me but as people arrived it seemed there were conflicting ideas about what they actually wanted. The set up proved to be quite involved as they decided they wanted to have a singer onstage at the last minute then went back on this request when they saw the setup the singer needed. They also seemed to expect to be able to speak on the mic with the music still playing, which is possible with extra setup but from what I understood from the setup instructions I got from Chenelle I would be playing the music as people walked up to the stage, then fading it out and switching it to the mic for them to talk. The jitter on projector #2 is resolved, though I did notice the image appears to wobble very faintly, mostly at the sides. It’s not showstopping, and though it’s possible this is a remnant of the jitter issue it seems to be separate. I replaced the studio guide that DMS removed from the trap and will come in early to test it tomorrow and see if this helps. To do this evening/ was completed: Presentation Issues: There was a 10 minute delay during the Starman screening this afternoon; almost exactly in the middle of reel 5 (of 6) the take up reel on projector #2 fell off its arm, fell to the ground, and film began spooling out onto the ground from the bottom of the projector. I immediately stopped the film and brought the house lights up, alerted MOD that I would need five minutes to address the issue, and made a splice in the reel in order to properly secure and re-thread the remaining film onto a new take-up reel. I thought I had secured the take-up reel but evidently it was spinning without the pin in a fully locked (pointing upward) position and spun off, locking the pin behind it when it took the weight of the film to the ground. Aside from this incident I had no other issues during the screening. Presentation Issues: A few notes about the Starman print: There is a black bar that appears on the right side of the screen from top to bottom during certain shots. It doesn't happen too much but just know nothing is wrong when you see it.  The print is also a bit warped. I didn't really notice it until reel 6, which definitely presents a warped image on the right third of the screen. T2 Round 3 did not start automatically.
